I'm getting chills just looking at the last two screenshots, I can't wait for the release! I'll make some popcorn and play the map with all the lights out. :v:
Working on final event tonight. Then will test over the weekend. If it's good enough I'll release, you've all waited far too long.

I'm guessing that if the temperature keeps going down, you start losing health?
I'm guessing that if the temperature keeps going down, you start losing health?
That was one of the things discussed in the stream, another possibility was that spooky things become more common the more you are in the cold and the colder it gets. It's been so long since that night, I don't think there was ever a definitive conclusion to what the cold does... we'll have to wait for Breadman to tell us. The anticipation is making giddy!
Well I don't know how it works, but I hope it's kinda like you have a set amount of time after the temperature drops to rise it again, if you fail to do so you start to move more slowly(since you're starting to freeze) and possibly pass out after some time. After some time you wake up, but to make it more interesting, let a ghost or such haunt the player while he's trying to get the temperature rising again.

God it really has been a long time, it feel like just yesterday the map was announced.
When you enter the dangerous area of the map for the first time (not the spawn area), the temperature starts to drop in 2 minute increments. You can place a gas cannister into the furnace mechanism to spark it and that will keep the map warm for 10 minutes. Once it runs out the temperature will start dropping again until it reaches it's coldest level. When the temperature is dropping/has dropped things get darker and bluer. It will gradually begin to kill you (it quickly becomes lethal). I experimented with player_Speedmod in the past to slow people down, but that entity has a habit of disabling your flashlight which proved to be counter effective. If you're planning on taking your time whilst making your way around the map I would suggest seeking out some gas cannisters to begin with so you or your friends can quickly re-spark the furnace when it runs out.
The short temperature drop time will make it more tedious than fun to be honest.

Will you have an option to disable the cooling function so people can just enjoy the scares and take their time with the map?
Will you have an option to disable the cooling function so people can just enjoy the scares and take their time with the map?
There's a button for that.
For people who haven't been checking his blog and the lazy people who don't care.
If it's going to be released on garrysmod too, won't lua help a lot?
You know, this might be a good or bad notion, but i may put up a gmod server for this map. Titled [BreadMans Ghost Hunting 3]
Ugh. Trying to update the addon. Gmad is rejecting the .raw files (Colour correction) Any pointers? Bleh. Looks like the downside of releasing on GMod is no colour correction. This means you won't be able to 'see' when it gets colder. You'll be able to hear it though - things get very quiet.
Tried packing the .raw files directly into the bsp?
Tried packing the .raw files directly into the bsp?
I did yeah, not working though. Shame.
I did yeah, not working though. Shame.
Hmm, its a tricky one then. Maybe you will have to provide a link to it in the description. Or (I'm not sure if you are able to do this), possibly pack it in a .rar/.zip so that you can GMAD it, and have lua unpack it and delete the zip afterwords when the map is first ran? Or even simply have it named something like .raw.old, and having some LUA rename it. I'm not sure what LUA is capable of though, I don't map for gmod.
Well, I won't delay it any further just because the colour correction can't be imported. I'll release without it and work to get it updated later. EDIT: I'm pushing for release today, by the way.
It's been so long... i forgot this thread existed :v I thank you for being with us this long and the others that waited ever so patiently!
many good people were lost along the way, but at last the day has come
This gonna be gud.

Also, 2015 is going to be a hell of a year, most of the unreleased stuff is getting released.
It's live, you can find the workshop link and the release announcement here: http://sarethen.weebly.com/breadman---mapper-extraordinaire/gm_ghosthunt_3-released Let me know how you get on. If there are any major game destroying bugs let me know and I will update accordingly. EDIT: Phew! Super busy. Happy Ghosthunting!!!!!
The curse of the number 3 has been defeated! Nobody likes my let's plays but I'm giving ghosthunt 3 a go right away.
I'm going to chill with some beers. I'll be back later to check in on you fellas.
I'm going to chill with some beers. I'll be back later to check in on you fellas.
I don't blame you, must be a huge mental relief for you to get this done. Hope you get some rest!
I'm going to chill with some beers. I'll be back later to check in on you fellas.
I'll raise my chalice and grunt "Breadman" tonight. When its dark and when I'm drunk...then I'll play it.
I'm getting errors and missing textures everywhere. Am I missing something?
