because synergy does not work for quite alot of my friends.
I mean even if it has a few bugs in good. As long as they are not game breaking I'm sure it will be okay

You know, if it doesn't work for your friends, then you should help them trouble shoot why that is. Because gmod was running on the same engine synergy was for some time.
More info coming soonish. I've made my choice though I'm afraid. I have exhausted every option with Garry's Mod. Shame really.

Garry designed the GMOD 13 update specifically to ensure gm_ghosthunt 3 never comes to completion.
Do what you have to do to foil his evil plan. If Synergy is the only way to defeat him, let it be so.

the problem is it does not work for loads of my friends none stop
there are no errors. even if they login with their account on my computer and try it still just crashes.
I have never been able to find out why

I'm a developer. I'm running a clean canvas. No addons, with only Half-Life 2 and the Episodes installed and mounted.
The map runs fine in Episode 2. It's completely broken in Garry's Mod. I've even loaded the map without custom content (And that took a while to sort out.) and it still doesn't work properly. The problems include but are not limited to : NPC's doing jack shit, weird lighting issues, doors don't work properly, horrific multiplayer lag and crashes.
I've been testing it with Garry's Mod since day one and continually with the updates etc it's gotten worse and worse and now it's unplayable. I'm not blaming Garry's Mod and I'm not mad. I have been using Garry's Mod all this time because it is a a pretty decent multiplayer platform to develop for. Things change - big deal. Whom am I to compose their direction? The adverse effects on this map in Garry's Mod are reflected through my 'testers' who are close friends of mine.
Ported it over to Synergy, runs fine. It runs as I would expect it to run with no issue. I kind of want to get this project done ya' know? I'm a busy man and the sooner GH3 is rolled out the better. I'm not going to re-code Garry's Mod. Neither am I going to hand the map out on a whim to anybody claiming they can fix it for me. I already ran over Halloween trying to get it working. I am now going to focus my energy into working with the Synergy team to get Ghosthunt 1, 2 & 3 released on their version of this platform.
I'd play it on Episode 2 if need be.

Also it's really not a good idea to develop single-player mods for Gmod anymore, what with half of the systems being broken and/or ported to LUA.

It has, Synergy now uses Source 2013 and SteamPipe and requires almost no configuration on the client-side, but there's a lot of misinformation on how to set up dedicated servers, which is largely why it was difficult to get it working in the past. I'm planning on posting a full setup guide soon to clear up a lot of the confusion. The only 100% guaranteed to work guide on how to setup Synergy 2013 dedicated servers currently is at [URL="http://synergymod.net/Documents/Dedicated%20Servers"]http://www.synergymod.net[/URL]. Most people who tell you how to set up synergy servers don't know what they are talking about or are refering to what they did in an older version of the engine (i.e. Source 2005).
P.S.
No configuration is needed client side the steps are the same as Gmod 12 (if you've installed and run/played the games before do step 2 then skip to step 4):
1. download/install HL2
2. download/install Synergy
3. run hl2 up to menu then hit quit
3. run the games you want to mount in Synergy up to menu then hit quit(I.E. Ep1, Lost Coast,Ep2, Tf2, Portal, etc.)
4. start Synergy and hit Game list, select each game you want to mount and hit mount for each of them then hit OK
5. Restart Synergy and play.
6. If you don't have a game required for a map and that map is designed for synergy, then synergy will kick you from the game and tell you you don't have the required games, if so mount them.
It looks pretty cool, work on the textures though.

Yeah, it makes it much more immersive when you can't spawn stuff doesn't it.

It's nearing Christmas and I've been so busy, I haven't really done much for the last 3 weeks in terms of mapping due to work and overtime etc.
I'm hoping to be handing the map to the Synergy team very soon. When that happens you'll hear more.
