It is to note that there are no ceiling textures in all of EG, it'd take a while to mimic the style.
It's not like Source doesn't support shiny bits.

It's hard to make shiny bits look good in source, while EG does it automatically.
Eh, it's just cubemaps and they look fine. In fact apart from intensity of reflection they can only look one way. What's so hard about that?
