Was I bored... It did take awhile but I've mapped so much I can do it for hours on end, even if I'm not being particularly entertained by it. I guess just being at the computer using Hammer has been fun, and it was something I was pretty excited about. I don't have fun when I can't think of something to do in Hammer; I was the kid that would build with legos all day in the basement, and if you think about it it's not really fun... just entertaining. I've forgotten to eat all day when mapping sometimes. I suppose it's kind of like brainwashing, so if you do it long enough it becomes second nature and you can't help opening Hammer up when you meant to look for your porn collection.
To sum it up I have too much time.

Yeah same. That's all you need for a GMod map. Entdata 320%, go ingame, spawn a prop, game crashes, ed_alloc error. I can see it now.
I try to use the smallest amount of entities possible, so the systems are pretty efficient. I don't think I'll have too much trouble keeping the total map entdata around 100%. Finally making this mining system I can't help thinking back to Rp_Mars, which is were I first started talking about the whole mining thing. Making a map in a Earth based mine makes sense, and I want to keep most of the action underground. I don't know if I'm going to have the surface or not, but if I do it will be a Siberian wasteland.
You should maybe add a Health Vial plant feature. You stuff in 2 or 4 Ant nuggets and then you can choose if you want a pack or a vial.

Another reason I am so excited about this is because most RP-ers just sit around not knowing what to do. This gives them some kind of purpose and a job that's meaningful and will create mini economies of mining and trading of minerals and stuff. I can't wait until this is implemented into something! :keke:

Couldn't agree more, and I plan to start on a map with it soon. I just want to accomplish an underground space with use for vehicles and small trams at the same time. I could probobly do that by making the mining carts skip past important mine areas or only really useful for storing ore and not people.
Yeah It's one of the hl2 particle effects, one of the smoke ones. There's a list of all the effects on the Valve wiki.

Yes, but the SourceSDK BETA doesn't give a list of the paticle systems and show what they look like, nor does the Wiki (Show what they look like). I've even tried to decompile a map from EP2, but no luck. That is why I asked Spacew00t, he used it in his map and I wanted to know.
There's only a handful of smoke entities on the wiki, and one says smokestack I think. It's a pretty good bet it's that.

What, so you don't need to haul 30 tons of Iron around? I was thinking about a bank exchange system for giving out cards with a certain amount of credit on it, but I don't know if it's all that useful. I mean the bars and barrels are pretty compact as it is.
