Count me in. I've always liked making maps that aren't all chaotic and out of control.
I agree that having these contest maps the option of being non-playable sucks. I like to create purely ambient background maps as much as the next person, but for a contest where you need to get the community to care to vote and pay attention to the contest this doesn't seem the best idea. Having just screenshots doesn't cut it.
Maybe if people /had/ to provide the map as well so you could check it out in via the Source engine that would make it a little better.

Agreed. I think people should base their votes on something more substantial than just a set of screenshots. There's a lot of work put into a map that you obviously can't do justice to with just a bunch of pictures.
I doubt I can enter in this, laptop hard drive sorts died but I can retrieve my information if I get some stupid corporate program.

It's not really the best theme ever.
I sort of predict any maps that come out of this will be large sunny fields with lots of detailsprites.
