True, but careful! 3kliks's followers may be watching, might trigger another debate! :ninja:
He has followers? He blocked me from posting on his videos...that makes me sad :( Oh, i should point out that a lot of the bad maps we get here are due to those tutorials. So aciid, go rage at 3kilksphilip instead of us as he is actually to blame for the poor quality.
Although...banning people for suggesting that 3kliks tutorials are good would be great.
What's wrong with his tutorials?
Ban him now! They teach stupid ways of doing simple things, and bad habits. They are only popular, because at that level of mapping, you don't know what is good. He also has an ego the size of the SS Richard Montgomery, and is about as explosive too.

If you choose to watch video tutorials, your choice maybe a bucketful of shit from youtube. Most of the tutorials have correcitons on the video made with "Annotations". Because most of the makers of the tutorials are speedy gonzales/don't really know what they should be teaching and which way. People learn better , thru self-learn and by reading documentation.

Are you serious? Why should they ban newbies, for uploading their work? Getting criticism is one of the ways forward in mapping. If you dont like the map, dont download it.

Why be stupid and just jump to the release section? The rule should be that maps must have a WIP in order for it to be released so that people can give feedback and tell if it's worthy of a download link. I should not even have the choice of downloading a 5 minute fullbright trash map, so your argument is dumb if your saying don't download it. I don't even want to see it in the section then.

If someone posts a wip thread, it is usually buried under the "source sdk is broke" threads.
This would be fixed by a newbie mapping section like there is in the lua section. But honestly if you don't like it don't download it it's not that hard and you should be use to people being idiots if you play gmod online at all.
I disagree. We all have rights to make maps, and we all have rights to release them. Facepunch... no different! If you can post a map, so can I. This is in support of those of us who (like me) are (ranging from) bad to okay mappers.
I'm seasoned, but not many FPers liked my pandora map, though it is a WIP. But now i know i need to opimize my maps, so i just got to look that up on VDC. But still a requirement that your release isn't "your first map which is consisting of a few blocky fullbright 'buildings' that have been carved to death" would be a good start...
I normally just close Source SDK once Hammer is open.
Then the view windows fuck up. SDK must be running alongside Hammer, i just minimise it, doesn't bother me...
