I'm not going to say you can't ask for payment to make a map.
However, i'm going to question the moral integrity of it.
Why do people map for free here? Many reasons. If I personally were a mapper, it'd be because i'd enjoy it, and I'd want to show my work to people and let them use it.
You don't want to map? Fair enough. But I think you're barking up the wrong tree by asking FPers to pay you to make a map, when in all honesty, there are better ones available for free.
How about you just don't make any more maps and save us the trouble of listening to your ego?

Mapping is a profession like anything else.
This is really quite simple.
The Pro is saying:
I am free to make whatever maps I like in my own time. If you want me to make a map especially for you, you're going to have to pay me to do it because you can't expect me to break my balls doing something I don't particularly want to do. So make it worth my time.
It's perfectly reasonable.

You're pretty dumb. We explained it in several different posts that it's normal to charge for a service. You don't expect Wal-mart to change your oil for free, you give them money. Mapping is a service, we don't play mahou shoujo and use our tinkerbell wand to magically pop a map out of thin air, it actually requires effort and time on our part to do it.

hah wow I'm so sick of all you "big shots" thinking you can have an attitude just because you're good at something. Giga, I have no idea who you are, but you, The Pro, Revan Chance(turck3), all of you walk around with your noses in the air thinking your the best and treating normal people like crap.

There's a reason we act snobby, it's because we don't want the "fans". Nearly every one of them is a noob that wants some favor, or to brown nose or to ask some idiotic question that google can answer and they cba to search because they're too lazy to help themselves.
There's also the people that constantly annoy you by asking you when you're going to release the map every 5 minutes, and the ones that constantly bug you to be a betatester.
We treat newb mappers like crap because they deserve it most of the time. Back when I started mapping [b]12 years ago[/b], all I had was a [b]90 page TEXT file[/b] describing the various features of the game and editor I was using. Now you have websites SPECIFICALLY designed and run to help mappers, yet they refuse to use them and instead want other people to do their work for them.

Yea, I see where you're coming from. btw I block out the "fans" you mentioned from my thoughts, so that's understandable, but I was referring to the 10% average honest-to-goodness dedicated mappers, not the 90% who make a 512x512 flatgrass and post it on gmod.org. And, I am a mapper in that 10%, I have pics on my team's site if you want proof =b

While I like your map, I doubt your "price list" is going to work that well.
I personally am not requesting you to make another map, or to let me redo it... god no, I can't map for shit.
What I am saying is that if you wish to get payed for mapping, your best bets are probably to join a gaming company or to set up a donation box.
'cause if you're just going to have a price list, sure it's possible that people will pay, but not likely.
Although if they don't at least you're spared the trouble of creating it I'm sure :/
