That light is way too bright
2 source units = 1.5 inches.
But if you try and make a map from a real world blueprint of a house, you will most likely end up with some really obscure result where the rooms seem huge and empty.
You're forgetting one thing rooms generally include. A door.
I think you should add... a Striper pole! :unsmigghh: [editline]03:14PM[/editline]
2 source units = 1.5 inches.
1.5 inches = Size of your penis. :smug:

Good job facepunch, de-railed on the 3rd post.
wall thickness

Turn the lights down. Also your wall seems really thin. Obviously needs some furniture.

That light is way too bright

You're forgetting one thing rooms generally include. A door.
Hey, looks quite cozy now! And a hallway outside seems to have appeared. What's next, fellas? [editline]11:19AM[/editline] Seems I didn't actually turn the light down. Which value should I reduce to accomplish this?
Now you need a door frame, some decals dotted around, only a few, to break up wall and floor textures. Then you need to add a sprite of spotlight entity to give the light fixture more of a feeling that light is actually coming from it.
Put a rotting corpse on the couch. blood, everywhere.
You need to figure things out for yourself instead of asking us. It'll get you a lot farther, trust me.
4 for walls that separate rooms, 8 for larger dividing building walls, and 16 for outer walls.
16 for void separating brushes, 8 for just walls. Add a desk, with a computer, running Hammer. Then map while u map :downs:
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf37f51F8zg[/hd] Add this in the room. except pointing outward. Its a bunch of env_projectedtexture entities.
16 for void separating brushes, 8 for just walls. Add a desk, with a computer, running Hammer. Then map while u map :downs:
Why do void separating walls need to be thicker? Bad practice at it's worst level.
If it's EP2 Engine, change texture to any in list show'd up while you write 'wallpaper' into filter. Add some furniture, Detail a bit it, add some additional wall, if you want any help, add me to friends list on steam
Look at photos of rooms (do a google image search or whatever). Take note of all the things in there, even the little things you might take for granted like skirting boards and doorframes and try to include them in your creation.
Why do void separating walls need to be thicker? Bad practice at it's worst level.
Cus den if u shewt it the void wont cum inside.
Make it a Packer's Football Mancave. We'll need a large tv, bigass speakers, giant couches, popcorn machine, and a whole lotta beer.
16 is more than a source foot thick It's a good width for bank vault walls but 8 will usually do
Source units are not a direct conversion. 8 units is tiny in relation to the size of props. 16 units is closer to the correct thickness of a 2x4 and two sheets of drywall.
Make some posters in the hallway and add a staircase down to the livingroom
Mapping section isn't fast threads.
Mapping section isn't fast threads.
Nobody said it was. You can have threads like this in the mapping section.
Creepy person looking in the window. Go.
Source units are not a direct conversion. 8 units is tiny in relation to the size of props. 16 units is closer to the correct thickness of a 2x4 and two sheets of drywall.
I convert from cm to inches, then one source unit seems to be an inch, so it looks proportional when i take measurements and convert them...
