How can you upload a file bigger than 100MB to the site, it seems to just give up after awhile
I believe Internet connection has alot to do with it
Could you include something that detects if the map has a env_light? And if not disallow the upload?
Why?
Why?
Or else we'll get a million of these: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=101986
What if it's an underground map?
You should make it notify the player if an update was released from toybox, so they can go update their files.
Also make it accessible directly from the menu instead of going in single player, which I'm guessing you're planning on doing, I just haven't kept up with your updates.
Can you put in a way to delete some files that you accidentally put in? Such as "gm_bedroom_v3.vmt" and "gm_bedroom_v3.vtf".
Yeah, I think a way to automatically remove all the content the Toybox downloaded would be nice.
Yeah, I think a way to automatically remove all the content the Toybox downloaded would be nice.
We definitely need this.
Also, how do ToyBox maps work, Garry? Are they downloaded and kept permanently, or will there be an in-game option to remove them individually and all content downloaded with them?
I think they would be downloaded until you remove them. Having to download a map from Toybox everytime you play would be stupid.

Of course. But what I mean to ask is this:
Are the maps downloaded and kept until manually removed, or will there be an easy-to-use, in-game method of cleanly uninstalling them?

I'm sure this will be on the agenda.
Pretty sure this will be on the feature list, don't see why not.
More concerned about deleting content we don't need from the backend's frontend.
Yeah, removing from the menu is planned.
Will only the newly uploaded maps be shown in the toybox, or will it be any search option in it? I can already see that some of the maps are gone from the first link
I was going to upload Project Shit Bricks, but the map's been getting no free edicts...
You gotta pay for your edicts, man. Ain't no one gonna give you them for free.

There will be categories, search, newest, most popular etc, all the usual.
Any chance of gamemode specific categories?
Not really, maybe at most a single "Gamemode Map" category.

That works.
What happens is there a conflict between files?
Will you get an option of what to do?
are the toybox map downloads only use able in singleplayer?
What happens is there a conflict between files?

The newest one will be used?
It won't let you upload if a conflict exists at the moment. This behaviour will change in the future, to update the file if it was originally updated by you - or fail (silently) if it wasn't.

Don't be so fucking stupid.

I put gm_worldwide on there, but the garrysmod.org account I used when I originally uploaded it is not linked to a steam account.
http://www.garrysmod.org/user/?u=61098 (non-linked rieda account)
http://www.garrysmod.org/user/?u=1237466 (steam linked account)
Is there a way to either change the users of the files on my old account or merge the accounts?
Not really, maybe at most a single "Gamemode Map" category.
How about a section for "Roleplay" since rp_ is a common..
-snip- I got someone to do it
some wanker stole my map >:(
report of map thievery
this should somehow be prevented.
Could need an OS category?
As in onslaught.
Garry, how about adding Twitter functionality eventually, so it tweets when you upload something to Toybox?
