Time to start uploading :v: [editline]04:30PM[/editline] You need somekind of system for Particles_manifest.txt. [editline]04:45PM[/editline] Hmm... Can't add particles to the file. [editline]04:51PM[/editline] Suggestions: -Fix to the particle_manifest file. -Ability to upload from garrysmod.org -Ability to ignore the "name" in -zip's:
Now: .Zip: /maps /materials /particles ... But often this happens: .zip/mod_name: /maps /materials /particles
While uploading a old map of mine.. with a rather long name, i came across the problem where the name cant be longer than 20 characters.. so i cant put it up live!
Rename it.
Ugh wont bother then :/
Rename it.
Requires re-compiling :/
Thanks for adding the Rats category.. now i can put supersizeroom there :D
Requires re-compiling :/
Really? You can't just rename the map?
Really? You can't just rename the map?
I think you can.. I dunno never really tried.. but surely you could just raise the character limit to 30!?
Yes you can.
20 is way long enough. If I raise it to 30 people will want it raised to 40, then 50, then 60. Please just try to make your map name under 20 characters.
Could you at least make it then so we don't have to name it the same as our file? (maybe have a keyword from it or something)
Yeah, I'm going to be working on that.
Yeah, I'm going to be working on that.
Ok thanks :D
Really? You can't just rename the map?
Last time i tried it fuxored cubemaps and materials.
Cubemaps, I don't know, but not materials.

[editline]09:00PM[/editline] If you take look on the relase section, you will see many map names with some characters over 20.
It' won't let me get gm_apocalypse live, every time I hit live and update status it always goes back to workshop
What does it say?
Nothing, the tick just goes back to workshop when I hit update status I set everything. I think it's probably because of conflicting names as garry already uploaded gm_apoc but then removed it just a few hours ago
Really? You can't just rename the map?
Nope. Basically, when mapping, env_cubemaps are a necessity. It pretty much gives textures that "reflective" look assuming they have specular maps. After you compile the map, you'd build the cubemaps in-game, where these entities take 6 screenshots in a 360 degree view, and from there, these data are stored in the .bsp which recognize the file name of the map. Renaming the .bsp file causes this to "break" the information packed by the cubemaps, thus, receiving "broken" reflections. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
I like, uploaded my map in the WIP Catagory, but it didn't show up ingame.
Maybe allow the owner of a map/file to remove comments on the page? As someone had already started with the "First lol" thing.
when i try to upload my map it just say This zip files contains files which aren't allowed. the_run22.bsp (Path not allowed) the_run22.bsp.bak (File type not allowed)

i just tryed with this. and its in a zip file : Maps/the_run22.bsp (Path not allowed)
I never had that problem
You have, you just didn't notice. The engine can't access the cubemaps because it doesn't know what their name is.
I originally had my map in the "Other" section, now it doesn't seem to be listed in anything. No other section is even there.. I uploaded two ttt maps. It appears under my favorites but that's it.

I can't get my map BlueEye Creek to go Live.
i just tryed with this. and its in a zip file : Maps/the_run22.bsp (Path not allowed)
Try with a lowercase maps, as when naming the file in the cloud it's also case sensitive to how you named your map. for example your map name is the_run22.bsp, so you're not allowed to name it "The_Run22.bsp" in the cloud. And would it be possible to remember you're logged in through sessions?
