Nothing, the tick just goes back to workshop when I hit update status
I set everything. I think it's probably because of conflicting names as garry already uploaded gm_apoc but then removed it just a few hours ago
I need to mark you as the owner of that map, gimmie a few hours.
You should add "5 minute map" category and rating. If after 1000 ratings, more than 50% would be "5 minute map" or "buggy", it will be automatically moved to "5 minute map" category. Also maker of the map will get a message that if he won't edit his map so ratings will get better, his creation will be automatically deleted in one-two weeks.
However maps in WiP category wouldn't be moved to "5 minute map" category, unless percent of bad ratings would be more than 70%.
Also if the map will keep good ratings for more than a week, it wouldn't be moved to "5 minutes map" even if bad ratings will literally flame it.
This way good maps wouldn't get flamed in case of bandwagon hate ("lol this map sucks its creator named me gay fail rate him bad")
English isn't my first language, so excuse me for grammar mistakes.
The only thing that could make this awesome menu even better would be a Other/Misc tab for maps that aren't Construct, Phys, WIP etc. ;)
Why do you care so much about people uploading shit maps? They upload a shit map, it doesn't get downloaded much, it falls to the bottom - no-one sees it.
It's like asking google not to index empty pages.
How about a Contest Entry category?

It was just a suggestion. A bit too complicated one, but still a sugestion. We all know that flame of shit maps is just a matter of time. All we need is something to dig them down faster. We don't want next garrysmod.org "Latest Uploads" column.
How about automatically generating a vmt and vtf for a map icon from the toybox icon if maps don't originally include one; to tidy up the map selection list?
Because that would be stupid. You would have to load up the map, have a program take a picture from just about anywhere (most likely the spawn), resize the picture, then save it.
Is it me or did toybox quit working?

OR it could use the image you uploaded for the map page?
It's feasible. I could even make a form so you could just upload a png and it would convert it for you properly.

WIN! :buddy: though it isn't too much of a pain in the arse for the maker of the map to make one themselves.
ALSO, a quick suggestion for the "Content Upload" page, create folders for us to organize our content? its a real pain to have to look thru a ton of files to find what you want (and make an "add folder" button?)
Achievement Unlocked: Quote Garry
Wha, how'd that get there... :v:
I originally had my map in the "Other" section, now it doesn't seem to be listed in anything. No other section is even there..
I uploaded two ttt maps. It appears under my favorites but that's it.
ttt_concentration_b2, ttt_digdown_b1
So if you put it under (For example) TTT_ (I know It's not a real section) you won't have to write "TTT_" taking up 4 valuable spaces?
What files aren't allowed. I am trying to upload RP_Evocity2_v2p but there is a fix that is needed because of an update that caused the map to crash. It uses a a small lua file in the lua/server/autorun folder.
All it contains is this;
[lua]resource.AddFile("models/props/gaspump01a.mdl")[/lua]
The only other files are the above pump model and the map icon as well as the map. Everything in the zip is set up right but it failed. Said that the zip file could not be opened.
Also on your upload page you have a typo. It says "No not" instead of "Do not".
Edit:
Ok tried another file. This time just with a maps folder and a scripts folder. Still failed. Trying just the map. It is huge and has lots of content packed into the BSP but it shouldn't fail.

Bad reading. You have to upload an icon to toybox anyway.
I uploaded a map and so far 0 downloads. Damn.

Lol... I have over 600... And yeah, how come we cannot upload LUA yet?
Lol... I have over 600... And yeah, how come we cannot upload LUA yet?
over 1,200 downloads :D
For some reason, mine was like the 12th to be uploaded and it still hasn't shown up in-game...
Hmm... I was unaware that the download name had to be identical to the map name - apparently maps won't start if it's not. This led to a bunch of people thinking my map Gm_Cliffhanger (which I previously just named "Cliffhanger") was borked and now I've got a bunch of frowny faces :frown:
Could you put a note somewhere in the upload process so this doesn't happen to future mappers, Garry?
What if you upload a map, but dont take any credit for it, and give all the credit to the maker?
The upload process might be a bit broken now - I changed the server around. Can someone confirm whether it's working or failing?

I can try, hold on for some minutes.

It works. I have an idea for improvement. When a map is downloaded there´s a small icon in some corner of the icon meaning "You already have this".

I agree.

Or you could just not include it in the map list. Have another tab for downloaded maps or something.
That could work too
if you already have a map, it will not re-download it... it will just let you select it...
Is there a size limit now. The file I tried uploading yesterday took forever to fail. Now it says connection has been reset. There's nothing wrong with the archive so I am confused. :(
Try uploading in chrome if you aren't already.
