The upload process might be a bit broken now - I changed the server around. Can someone confirm whether it's working or failing?
Uploading is fine, dowloading fails (Internet service slow), and downloading props crashes gmod.
Try uploading in chrome if you aren't already.
I did it failed again. :(
Odd... I uploaded a new version of my map, but it did not auto patch? any way we can fix this?
What if you upload a map, but dont take any credit for it, and give all the credit to the maker?
Do not do this. It's highly frowned upon to upload someone else's work without their direct permission, even if you credit them.
How about we re-add the categories like other? Uncategorized maps can't be found.
What files do you need to upload to your map in order to get an image in the map selection screen when starting a new game?
Was trying to upload Skylife onto it, but it doesn't like my particles_manifest.txt file. Any way to fix? :smith:

The specific files are:
materials/maps/gm_mymapname.vmt
materials/maps/gm_mymapname.vtf
But that guide will show you how to create them, too.

Ah, I thought it needed a .txt scripts file in the settings/maps folder, but that path wasn't allowed.
Oddly enough, only one of my uploaded maps images work.
I deleted map form addons/toybox directory that I have downloaded while ago and I can't download it again. It seems to be storing downloaded maps and don't let me do it again but it should check if files physically exists.

Really need this.
How come whenever I try to make it go live, it does not?
Nevermind Obvious text above tick wasn't obvious enough for me D:
I have a question for debate:
Does anyone think maps in the WIP category should not show up in the "Popular" section? I know it may sound silly at first but think about it - when people see new maps on the "front page" they're expecting something finished, not a work in progress. So after trying it out, they may rate it down thinking that's what the map is supposed to look like when it's not, giving the developer somewhat skewed feedback.
I'm not sure where I stand on that, myself, but I thought it might be a good question for discussion.

The popular section is for just that: what's the most popular. Why should the category, even if it's WIP, change that? Some great maps don't even leave the WIP stage.

How exactly is the popularity calculated?
Is it a mix of downloads, frowns and happy faces or something else? And if so, how?
Im trying to upload the new bunkerflatgrass map, but the download should have the same name as the map (gm_bunkeflatgrass_v2) but thats too long for the name of the download.
what should I do?

Rename the map file... make it bnkr instead of bunker, or combime brunkergrass, something creative
Can we Sticky this?

I assumed it was how many times downloaded.
[editline]11:48AM[/editline]
nevermind, it clearly isn't
Can we Sticky this?
I think its pretty useless to sticky this.

Retoasting again
It's not letting me upload my file (Yes It's a .rar)
It's not letting me upload my file (Yes It's a .rar)
It needs to be a .zip
Retoasting again
The particle manifest is a single file that is overwritten by new ones. It's not good to ship custom particle effects in this manner with your map because it will break other custom particles, if I'm not mistaken.
However, you can set up a map-specific manifest file, I am fairly certain: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Particles_manifest.txt (note the second file it references)
And, if that doesn't work, you can always try using PakRat to bake it into the map. I haven't tried particle manifests specifically but I know you can pack in a lot more than just textures and models (i.e. color correction, node graphs, etc.)

Excellent, didn't know you could rename the manifest file to be map specific.
Thanks!

That's what I meant.
That's what I meant.
What are the files in the .zip, and what path does it have inside the .zip?
The update tomorrow will have toybox map downloading. So, you might want to get your map up ready.
http://toybox.garrysmod.com/IG/maps/
So, here's how.
Sign in here using your Steam account:
http://toybox.garrysmod.com/
Go to Cloudscripts, My Maps, then Add.
http://toybox.garrysmod.com/cloudscript/?upload=map
Fill in the details, and add. Now you need to upload your map.
http://toybox.garrysmod.com/content/
You need to make a zip file containing your map and any other files it requires. They need to be in the ROOT of the zip folder. Upload it. Please let me know if you have any problems here.
Now go back to your map, in cloudscripts, my map, edit your map, and click on the content. Now you need to find the content that needs to be downloaded for your map - click the names to make them go to the right column.
Once you're done, don't forget to make your map Live by clicking on the Edit Status tab.
