I am too unable to make it look like this:

Hope this will help the more skilled people to know what they should be going for a look on it.
You can still see that I got the shapes right for most of the part.
May I borrow the .vtf and .vmt files of the blue road texture? It would really help out my L4D2 map. I sent you a PM with the details. Also, I would credit you

You are not getting anything.
Sorry.
Because I will release the texture when I feel like it is done.

No problem bro. Take your time.
Everyone that can see what I did to a couple of parts on the texture tell me what you think, if it looks worse or better:

Went for a cleaner look on those few parts I did stuff to.
From what I see, I went back and played Halo 2 (On PC) and these look far better, in particular.

Lets just do what Bungie did, selfillum and bumpmap using alpha texture to apply bumpy reflections, not this hard people.

I am not going for something that you think look "far better".
I want it to look like the halo 2 road texture.
I am still working on the texture to look more like I wanted it to do in the first place when I got all the halo 2 textures two years ago.
For all of you that do not know.
This is Halo 2 PC:

Its always going to look pretty shit when you have scaled up the texture. To be honest its not the most complex texture in the world, why not just recreate it in photoshop?
You should release the texture in its current state since its pretty much completely made by the community and because the majority of people are wanting a decent looking texture not a shitty compressed basic halo2 texture which I am guessing is what your after.

What is your big problem?
It is not compressed when it is double up the size of the original plus fixed up.
I am going to copy halo 2 nicely.
If only Banshee Friend could get the Halo 2 shaders to work in source.
Which he at this moment is failing at even if he got all the necessary stuff to do it.
He is trying to show me that he can make the 512x256 texture original to look better than my remake.
Directly out of halo 2's bitmaps:
My texture remake:
If the shaders got added on my texture then it would maybe then look even better than Halo 2.
The texture that I am trying to make is going to be great for the stuff I am going to do.
I do not care for your "requirements" also you might not have read this thread at all since a guy already redone the texture from scratch.
I am not impressed with that textures looks like.
Mostly because it is not looking like halo at all.
He could possibly have done it better if I only had that in game screen shot back in that early day.
Just Bumpmap it and use alpha masking on the Normalmap and envmap it, Seriously we don't need all this SSB and other random crap, Halo 2 didn't (besides making it selfillum).
Assuming you want it to look as it does in Halo 2.

Still keeping the halo 2 style on the texture then it can have those things.
First you decide which texture I am going to take and then you start saying that I have to make a new texture from scratch instead of actually helping on the development of the texture also saying that I do not need the stuff that is more high tech than halo 2 got.
But I do because it is my map. Anything that keeps the halo 2 feel and looks better.

If you are going to keep doing all this for each texture then it will take forever for a single map to be textured for you, Just do what works and is simple, its the best way.

This will be done on 3 different textures.
Not going to take that long.

Civil, I know you're not stupid, but just in case, please, please ignore this.
It's nonsense.
