I know, I liked it. I wasn't saying it was bad. But I was really confused (not in the bad way) and terrified, especially at the scene you mentioned. Had to close my damn eyes.

[sp]The thing that grabbed the humanoid was a prehistoric facehugger, and in the alien trilogy that's how the aliens are made. The black goo was the biological weapon developed by the humanoids to wipe out the humans. Charlie is the first one to die from it.[/sp]

Ah, that explains it. I don't think I ever saw the Alien trilogy. If I did, I don't remember much of it.

DVI to HDMI cables are the bomb for stuff like that. I rigged up my DVD player to my computer monitor (that only supports DVI) as a test once to see the effect, it works good. A little quality loss, but i guess that depends on the monitor.
