Would anyone mind if I make a newb tips thread? I was thinking I would post it with a few pointers, and whenever some one adds some tips I would put them into the main thread to make a list of shit new mappers and a few experienced ones can learn.

Okay here's the deal. When making an arch, it aligns the vertices to the nearest 1 inch grid mark. So you never get a true arch or cylinder. since you are on the 16 scale grid, it only has 136 points to plot your arch and since you have 32 of them, it's having to screw up in order to align with the grid.
The solution? make a bigger arch. and if you want something that small, make a larger version and scale it down using propper.
