It can be remade simple but to a better standard. Those 2(!) guys are tag teaming it forgetting to func_detail making stairs to different scales and there was 1 point when they made a stairway to low to go up. Sounds "simple" to me

That would be first released map. Some people have mapped for years or mapped for other games but never released. Most of the first maps on garrysmod.org are literally the first map they make and you can tell.

all i can say is "YES!"

because then i got an idea:
ill map a block, with the dimensions of 512^3
and after a few hours of work, ive managed to nicely complete the basic brush work and its looking pretty good.
now to test and start detailing!

Actually, space-oriented contests (only allowed this much space) can be quite fun, especially when people are allowed to use the 3d skybox. I remember someone was doing a 512*512*512 challenge and he made an apartment-style courtyard, but he used the skybox to surpass the height limit. It ended up looking really good.

How bout no skybox 1024? the whole skybox thing is a lil sneaky. You could make a roof top and then in the skybox make an entire city. Hardly a 512^3 cube :(
