I just tried nutella with marshmallows :tinfoil:
Nutella is delicious.
Had my first day of my IT apprenticeship today. Was long and tiring. Walked to the train station and sat down. Some 13 year old girl sat down with these 3 14 year old boys. And yeah, the 13 year old girl was pregnant. Boasting about how her child was giving her pains and that she stayed up all night. Another lovely day in Portsmouth.
All three of them are the fathers.
Ok, ugh. So, I was following beanz tutorial on making caves. Look pretty cool. At 5:53 he sub-divides everything. Hammer doesn't respond for like 2 seconds then it works. Now, I have copied him to the letter but when I do it. Hammer just doesn't respond and stil continues to not respond after 5 minutes. Any help? http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1203293
it's actually edited. it took like maybe 30 seconds. i guess it takes longer depending on the computer and what else you're doing and of course how many displacements you are subdividing. when i was doing this cliff face once that was a whole load of displacements i hit the subdivide button and hammer stopped responding, but like 15 minutes or so later it was all done.
This timeline thing on facebook made me realize how much of a retard I was like 2 years ago.
Hey guys. I'm thinking of starting a Reference Picture megathread where people can find inspiring pictures when they're bored, or where people can post the good ones they have. Sort of like those threads in Creationism Corner, except they're made for architecture and people go there to be inspired/inspire others. What does everyone else think, and would I need a mod's permission to start a megathread? For example, Person 1 feels like mapping but has no ideas. Person 2 just took a cool-ass picture of this building that could easily be constructed in Hammer, and posts it in the thread. Person 1 goes to the thread for ideas and sees the cool-ass pictures.

Here's a preview of a few of them: And the file names in their respective order... appicon terrain_tool_toggle_control_cage terrain_tool_select_verts terrain_tool_edge_smooth paint_tool_icon scale_tool_icon You can find these at: ".../SourceFilmmaker/game/platform/tools/images/hammer" ...

Wasn't that discovered over a month ago? [editline]6th August 2012[/editline] Apparently yes.
i even said that in my post that it was from the SFM thread, that thread is literally a refinding of things we already found over a month and a half ago

Your displacements on the outside and inbetween the brushes is the issue. Looks pretty though. Is it playable?
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ry-J95lgiNo[/hd] Hi.
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ry-J95lgiNo[/hd] Hi.
Thats some hot stuff.
Making a reference picture megathread... can't make a banner for shit. Anyone with Photoshop willing to assist with that problem?
I have no clue if it's playable or not. Don't want my computer to start smoking. Second attempt; You know, it's funny: I have been working with Hammer for 3 years or so know. And there are still things I am learning. [editline]6th August 2012[/editline] Selected only the showing faces, not the entire thing. Anyone have any idea how to improve?
uuuuuh, what are you doing? only make displacements with visible faces i see extruding faces that shouldn't be showing didn't we go over this a year ago or so? :v
Just found that :v: Thought this guys funny

Destroy them all then select just the inside ones and remake them.

The result of being tired, playing peggle, and using the map editor all at the same time.
Spent the past half hour with Iron trying to work out why it was doing it, finally fixed it. Your right, the touching faces were displacements. Destroying them fixed it.
