Oh my goodness.
I have family in the UK, and I've been over to visit numerous times (I live in California in the US). Every time I stay at my uncle's house in Salisbury with my aunt and cousins. So I spent a lot of time walking around Salisbury and the surrounding area. Now there are a billion pasty shops there.
Holy fuck, I love pasties.
And I have only seen pasties on the menu ONCE in all the restaurants I've been to back in the United States. And it is the most INFURIATING THING since they are quite possibly my favourite food ever.
Why they never serve them in the States is a mystery and a crime.
It's stereotyping, which is wrong. Like saying that black people have more accidents than white people because black people go round fast food places doing drive by shoot-outs. Like, what the fuck. I am sensible.
Next time you are over, try some haggis. It is banned in the states, probably due to it's contents...
snip no point
Oh god, not another argument please
Heh...when i phoned tech support at orange, they told me that the reason my net was dropping was because i needed to turn off my antivirus.
"Tech Support Professionals" are sometimes hopeless (most of the time in my case). Surely if you get a virus you do one of four things. One. reinstall windows, two, piggyback the drive off another drive, retreive your info then purge the drive. Three, disconnect the pc from the internet, then remove the virus manually, four, install a fucking antivirus and only go on sites you reconise.
Also...4000 dollars to fix your pc...you got ripped off. What were you doing? Constantly buying "windows antivirus" over and over again?
Oh god, not another argument please
your fucking avatar always makes me giggle.
Snip, because reasons I don't know.
No thats why I snipped it
Why would you post it no one thought it would be funny, and you are being sarcastic to people that are mad at you
but no seriously did you not try reinstalling windows before going to support about it?
usually when something fucks up i just back up to another HDD and reinstall
Turtly- follow these steps.
1. Boot the pc in safe mode.
2. Install an antivirus.
3. Purge the virus from your pc.
4. If virus is a lingerer, backup all your data, format the drive and reinstall windows.
5. If pc is still fucked, then you are probably suffering from hardware failure, probably hdd, although i guess it could be a psu malfunction or mobo. Check all connections (by reaching into the pc and pushing all the cables. You can do as i do and do it when the pc is plugged into the mains, or be safe and unplug everything like a dullard).
6. If your pc is still fucked, rip out your hdd, and kill it, throw the remains of said pc in the dump, then stop fucking complaining.

Yeah, I did. The laptop I'm using has SMART protection, which doesn't allow tampering with hardware.

You were one of the very few people that mopman didn't share this with, but I spent a lot of money and time installing a lot of AVs and crap. It didn't help. Hell, I even bought one-on-one tech support sessions, and sent in my computer to a repair center for three weeks. I'm not asking for facepunch's wisdom on this one.

Tried that also. I did an entire wipe of my computer, and I still got things like popups, redirects and random shutdowns.

It's a laptop.

can't rip out hdd has smart protection
that ASUS laptop was a piece of shit...
This smart protection? : http://www.fixrogues.com/remove-smart-protection-2012-virusremoval-guide
Heh heh...
If you were still getting issues with the hard driver, chances are you didn't reformat the drive. I'm not talking about reinstalling windows over the top, but a full reformat.
Or...boot your pc. Check the processes in google. Find out what you have and how to get rid of it. Then, with your list of files to remove and reg keys in hand, disconnect the pc from the internet and start the fun job of clearing it out.
Oh, and the guys in this section are probably more qualitifed to help than any pay to use tech support :)
I always consider those things to be a con.
Right...now i have clued up on smart protection : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T.
It's a monitoring tool, it should detect if your drive is about to die, it shouldn't prevent you from ripping out the drive.
What kind of 'protection' doesnt allow you to change hardware
Never buy prebuilt kids

It's why i love my monster.
Couple of weeks ago, it was overheating, pulled the fan assembly out, plopped a new one in, and now its happy again.
Plus the new 120mm cpu fan glows blue!

I've got 4 fans in mine, two of them take up the length of the computer. I think I'm okay.
Future Shop still sells that skyrim bundle that gives you the dragon statue.
Should I blow 99 dollars for it even though I already own skyrim?
Nah not for a statue

LED's are cool, but only if they are all blue.
I spilled water on my laptop, nothing happened.
I have too much luck.
