It's not so bad once you try it.
Working for 14 hours straight today, worked 14 hours yesterday, haven't slept since the night before, and only got half an hour of sleep then. Plus, caffeine is useless to me. If I don't make it, rip Y+B...
Normally I'm kind of in the background just kind of going along until I feel incentive to post or reply to something, but tonight I've been kind of amazed at how far downhill a thread can actually go. This thread has official dissipated and I'm going to see if I can ask for a lock. This is really nonredeemable.
You guys can take this as a giant flame directed at most people in this thread or, hell, you guys could just leave it. Most of the arguments I've seen in this thread have been vastly immature and, at times, reduced to some of the worst examples of arguing I've seen on the internet without simply being labeled "trolling".
For example, Mr. Anonymous, you've said that you don't actually care about what goes on via the internet but I really don't believe that. After numerous mentions of your girlfriend, numerous jabs at people for their weight, and multiple occasions of you following arguments past their graves, I'm certain that you are either very immature or you care way too much to belong on the internet.
Outside of that, I can say that I made this thread in attempt to create some sort of hangout for mappers (regardless of skill or knowledge) and it's been reduced to a meaningless argument spree - one of which I can't understand. Evocity? Really? It's just a map. It's not groundbreaking but it's not bad. Go play Fretta for some terrible maps and compare. There is a good amount of work put into it, you have to admit. Suggesting otherwise is ignorance. (But not jealousy.)
What I appreciated about the Mapping subforum here on Facepunch is that it was a great place people came together to help each other and to critique each other. Why is it that when I put up a little hub for all of you mappers to get together that you guys turn into elitest assholes fist-fighting each other to be on "top"? This doesn't go for all of you, and this doesn't go for all of you in all cases, but a lot of you guys bicker about nothing to try and gain some ground over the next guy.
I actually didn't care about this. Not at all. I ignored this for the longest time and it's really, really reached it's lowest point, especially since some people are coming to me on Steam about all of this mindless drama and I don't care.
Someone mentioned this in the process of being locked, but I will request one myself because this thread has truly proven that it's purpose cannot be achieved.
