or just cordon what you want to test
Holy crap how come I've never thought of that?? I could copy my lights into a simple 512x512 room and test out some lighting styles. You sir just won the 2012 Creativity Award...
My laptop overheats whenever I try to compile :(
I hate the fact that the newer Hammer (Alien Swarm CS:Go) can only go to .0* rather than having number like .16323562 for texture scale. It's really annoying for 3D skyboxes.

Skybox textures are 0.625 anyways. You obviously just don't know how to make a 3D skybox. The 3D skybox is 1/16th the size of your map.
When I make a real nice map, then AFTER it crashes randomly, that's when I realize that I forgot to save it.

Or even worse, you are painting alpha and you unclick, but it continues to paint where ever you move your mouse and you don't realize until there is a big ass block of alpha paint where it doesn't fit in.

Yea I know, I was more posting as a nusciance of mapping. And yea.. Y U No use autosave?

You have no idea what you are saying.
Default texture scale is .25 1/16th of that is 0.015625
In CS:Go sdk, all I can set it to is .01 or .02 It won't let me set it any lower than that. Which results in unaligned textures.

0.0625*, .625 is bigger than .5 scale
The Grid and measurements, I generally start off right to the mark but by the time I'm half way through the grid is a mess of brushes of different sizes.
That I just discovered the brush size selector when painting blend textures on displacements.
After 4 god damn years of mapping in Source I find out there is such a thing as a size selection for the paint brush.
:suicide:
