water temple was challenging to say the least
I still have nightmares about that fucking thing.
We might start a mod :P With loooooooots of puzzles and choices :v:
Wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe something like Myst?
Want something like Myst, go play Myst :v:
No, it's actually this: The next generation is always smarter, but lazier.
I think humanity will hit it's intellectual peak in a thousand years or so and then begin to lose intelligence. Just like what happened before the dinosaurs.
Want something like Myst, go play Myst :v:
Something like Deus Ex 1
Something like Deus Ex 1
Still planning to play that.
Facepunch: the mod? Break out from the refugee camp by any means possible
Facepunch: the mod? Break out from the refugee camp by any means possible
The account that must break out in the game is TheXeon
Xeonmuffin*
Who was xeonmuffin? I googled it but only 1 reply came up.
It seems like back then every map was semi-openworld, like you had to run around to get things go back to a point and use it, the devs really knew how to reuse gameplay space to make the game longer. This could be why so many people love MINERVA, because Adam was so smart in the way he reused gameplay space. I wish I could learn to make maps the old way.

Games nowadays have more flashy graphics and stuff, and to many game developers act according to "unwritten rules" of how to make a game and a good level, to make a good level... But i miss the good ol' days though. where there were no rules how to build a level in a proper way according to those rules
Pilotwings.
But almost everyone hates MW2
I hate the players more than the game itself. If I wanted to experience the thrill of hearing 13-year old boys whining, I'd become a PE teacher.
Well, consider that there are two sides of the market. There is the short-willed, stupid and impatient ones I like to call the heretics because they'll buy any game on the market as long as it's a sequel to a decent game made by a big corporation. Then, there are the people like us. Companies are bigger and wealthier because they found out that the heretics are a larger group. It is still a business and so they need to appeal to the larger market to make a decent amount of money. Heretics -as you most likely know- don't like quality games, rather, the fact that they bought and play the next biggest game. I find this out by my 2-year trip to XBL. As I know the mentality of a 13-16 year old who take up a large portion of the game market, they don't want good games because they're hard or deep, flipped, they avoid them because they seem too juvenile. Consider, you don't see very many deep war games or any deep space marine game, which appeals to this market. They like games like that because it makes them think that they are "cool" or "mature" because they see mutilation and/or gore. Often, the only games with any depth are RPGs (which for the same reasons above are getting worse and worse but they still have a glimmer of reference because not all are like that). Many people who like that sort of thing are often ridiculed for being a "nerd" because their games don't have blood, gore, etc. The heretics are far more common than the "nerds" because this age group doesn't want to deviate from the norm. Nerds are the bold ones for wanting to do it. So, based on this, I think the ideal game would be a war game with challenging missions, more than one way to reach your goal but each with different effects and consequences while going deeper, like into the physique of the soldier, creating a deep and dynamic story. Oh, and have Infinity Ward make it. [editline]12th November 2010[/editline] Fuck, my internet went down, causing a triple post.
you forgot invincible ai companion that is ineffective in combat and generally serves as nothing but a voice
leon! Help meeee
I'd like to see more games like GTA. But instead of a map and and a UI dedicated to show you the way and directions, let people figure out themselves how to get somewhere. I loved GTA 1, you had a city map... On a piece of paper that came with the game CD.

I Cant believe no one has mentioned Mass Effect 1 and 2 :ninja:
But Infinity Ward made Modern Warfare 2 and its level design sucked.
I meant for marketing purposes.
I meant for marketing purposes.
Or to put it in other words: for some twelve year olds.
I Cant believe no one has mentioned Mass Effect 1 and 2 :ninja:
they're p cool.
Where did that "p cool" thing come from?
Where did that "p cool" thing come from?
It's "p. cool" and it means "pretty cool".
But Infinity Ward made Modern Warfare 2 and its level design sucked.
Infinity Ward have better multiplayer maps, you don't have shit spawns.
I thought the airplane level in MW2 was pretty nicely done.
Infinity Ward have better multiplayer maps, you don't have shit spawns.
that's only because you spawn with your team
