I agree with ZapDing. And don't make it co-op this time.
And disqualify Deadchicken from it.
Please make deadchicken not allowed. Or make him a judge, or something. JUST DONT LET HIM MAP!
Hey, Deadchicken, maybe you should make the next competition... [editline]23rd October 2010[/editline] Ooh, I'm a thinker, I am.
Now that does sound like fun. Let's hope we can make a little progress with this one before that..
I think co-op should be allowed, but not required.
Agreed. It really didn't go down too well.
You never get anywhere in life without trying, eh?
I actually don't like co-op at all, since I like having my own ideas and plans. Everyone has their own styles and methods, its almost hurting development of a map if you co-op.
I remember with the community houce thing, I did the displacements around the house as it was going pretty shit. After that, a fair few people were contributing and it started getting really nice. I tried having a go later on but it's so hard mapping amongst and in conjunction with other people's techniques.
Luckily for me I just helped patch a lot of issues, and optimized.
I think Co-op works if you're both matched well, you both have to have the same image in mind, and workflow has to be quite flexible. I found with Selbs that we compromised a lot, and we're both working towards different areas now, ( or when we can)..
We should have a competition where we have to work in conjunction with someone while we're teaching them to map. That way there's no contrast in techniques and we may get some good new mapper's out of it.

If so I could set one up?
No. Just no.
Someone make Molossia.
I actually like ZOMG's idea. Why dont we have a competition or thread where we group up with people who want to learn and we teach them everything we know?
Because I do that with you guys already.
No, you just give us tips. You didn't teach everyone EVERYTHING.
At the rate I've been doing things it feels like I have :v:
Does creating interiors of buildings get you any extra points when judged?
Does creating interiors of buildings get you any extra points when judged?
Not necessarily. Mapping competitions aren't about the content, more of the execution.
I might possibly enter with Jamzzster...
I might possibly enter with Jamzzster...
Why bother this late into it?
Yeah, I don't realistically see our map being completed in such a short time... We'll still be working on it, but not in time for the contest methinks.
Extend by another month?
Because I do that with you guys already.
I usually agree with you, but no, you don't deserve my tick this time, I learned everything I know from trial and error and reading tutorials... [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] and watching 3kliks :v:
Yeah, I don't realistically see our map being completed in such a short time... We'll still be working on it, but not in time for the contest methinks.
But you can still post some pics for voting.
Sphinxa's back :buddy:
Sphinxa's back :buddy:
Yes, yes I am good sir, I will be on this evening at roughly half past ten, is that suitable for you my friend? [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] I also think myself and Rombis will be out of the competition, he's not really contributing much and I can't do it on my own :frown:
