The new version is looking very cool (:
It's taking a lot of effort but every floor will be accessible.
Can't wait :buddy:
It's taking a lot of effort but every floor will be accessible.
screenshots plz
I'm just trying to figure out how to make all the desks unique on every floor. Adding a lot to the ground area too. Will this do for now, kids? (: Working very hard for you guys. It should actually run smoother than the previous versions as I've gotten a hell lot better at optimisation.
Does anyone want anything added? I don't want to release it then have people complain that it lacks something I didn't think of at the time. :P
Add an elevator that breaks down and plummets down to the first floor :v:
Add an elevator that breaks down and plummets down to the first floor :v:
There will never be moving elevators! :P I don't think people want to wait that long to get to a specific floor and I don't want to make it.
Just don't do the 'walk into elevator doors and get teleported to 10th floor'
A skyscraper in the middle of fuckin' nowhere. Add some giant rectangles to the skybox at least so it's not so lonely looking.
A skyscraper in the middle of fuckin' nowhere. Add some giant rectangles to the skybox at least so it's not so lonely looking.
There will be, don't worry.
Just don't do the 'walk into elevator doors and get teleported to 10th floor'
Tough luck! If Hammer editor wasn't such a bitch to use, you would have twelve elevators. I have to sacrifice a few qualities to assure that the level actually runs. Every one of those floors is accessible remember.
Just make it so there's the actual elevator car that you go into and once you're there you get teleported :3:
Just make it so there's the actual elevator car that you go into and once you're there you get teleported :3:
Even the old map has the actual walk in elevator if you played it. (: They will look even better in the next version. There's even a shaft going all the way down half the building.
Is there any way to get this working in CS:S? If not, you should make a CS:S version. It would be awesome.
Been a while, any more news? I'm exited to see that this map is going to have every floor accessible, which would be quite an achievement.
may be too late now, but if you can try to add a destructable aspect to it. Press a button and something explodes and building collapses. Collapsed building can still be navigated.
fu when I see the first screen I think that this tower will fall because the first floor has no support (entire light brown support is too thick to take the skyscraper). Nice level though

Nice level though
Actually it was designed off of a famous IBM building in Chicago, which hasn't fallen down yet. (: It's still being worked on, just have been busy with education and work. Every floor WILL be accessible, I just can't decorate each one of those floors individually so I have to find alternatives to doing so. At the moment only the highest floor is decorated. Most of my work is going in to the outside of the building and the area it's located in.
Hey munchkins! Here's a preview of the upcoming version:
Okay now there is a huge ruined subway underground (:
What is it like to have over 22,000 downloads, Paw?
What is it like to have over 22,000 downloads, Paw?
When Garry wrote a short review of it and put it on his blog I was so happy. Loads of friends I know in real life, who have Garry's Mod, recognise my map before I've showed it to them. Hopefully the second version will be even more popular! :D It really helps for uni and job interviews. Something I've achieved that's worth talking about for my future games design career.
I'm hoping to have it released before Christmas. Version 2 and a half will be worked on and released shortly after version 2.
I think I went a little overboard with the brush count. I made all of the floors accessible, added an underground subway, added houses and massive detail to the area and even without the skyscraper in the level the brush count is past max. ): The only way I can save this level, and the year of work I've put in to it, is to learn how to model. Then I can turn half of the brushes in the level in to models. It will optimise the map to a massive degree. What I'm trying to do is at least make use of the scenery around the level. I may release a separate level. I have a lot of projects coming up, so I should have a couple of new maps released this year.
Nice map. Consider using propper? https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Propper
Yeah just propper everything.

I don't remember what went wrong. I think it was that you have to texture the models it makes yourself or something.
