Someone please tell me the offical medical condition for me shaking uncontrollably upon seeing this map released? Soon please, it's hurting my insides.
Can I get into trouble if I edit the map but only use it for my clans perpous as long as he get's credit ?

The actuall map (making ships) is much better than I would have thought.

All you guys need to stop whining. I have a fuckin' HP Compaq with a 1.80ghz processor, and a tiny GeForce FX 5200 256MB.
And I run smoothly on this map with no lag whatsoever.
Even on a server.
And I KNOW none of you have a computer as sucky as mine.
This map is amazing.
There are a few drawbacks, but I find it to be quite impressive.
Okay, i'm trying to make a ship with a cargo bay to put the satillite in. I can't figure out what buttons to press. Seems like when i press a button sometimes it presses another one.
Also, what are these attachable things that look like tractor beams, they don't seem to do anything.
Slightly laggy, the hype was just unnecissary, and the ship is mildly confusing to get around. Also, why don't the doors with the funny metal things on the side not open?

Ok then, make us a captial class ship with operational defense turrets / propulsion systems and fighter support.
I played the map without the skybox download (forgot to put it in) and had a blast running around the ship and exploring. Great Job on the map.
However, there are a few bugs i;ve noticed (just for the grin of testing)
-The Captains in chair doesn't appear to work (atleast for me) i noticed there's the little holding casket inside the seat, but it doesn't work
-The first two.. airlocks i guess they are, which are at the almost very top of the ship, when you step into those you instantly hit no gravity and get stuck easily. Having to use noclip to escape the hold even with the doors still closed.
-in the hanger when you are able to control the crane arm, when attempting to pick up the satcam, it won't always attatch to it and when you pull up the closed crane arm the satcam stays there. Open up the satcam arm and the device goes flying in a frenzie
-Missing textures? Asteroid engines, medical bay shield-teleporter-healer thing (in the room with the medical bed scanner.), part of the escape pods which you cannot see.. the block/spawn thing inside the asteroid on the top level, back room. and i'm still looking.
-escape pods have the same problem as the upper airlock things, you start to drift and get stuck against the wall as if gravity cuts off.
-The ladder (atleast i think there's one) leading from the vent shaft in the control room to the level below is unusable
Again, Great map! I couldn't be happier playing it!
Suggestions would be..
-> Give the escape pods their own gravity like the main ship (if you can). ability to walk around inside the escape pods (not stuck to the seats), button to OPEN the escape pod hatch once they've been closed and you're out to space. That way when you do get it to say, the asteroid you can get out again instead of being stuck!
-> fill in the bottom room of the asteroid?
-> Possibly give more control options to the command deck? For isntance, the ability to shut/open the emergency doors without having to blow the reactor, lights controls, and whatnot? giving the commander of the roleplay the ability to quarantine certain players.
->Windows on the airlocks (the ones with the traffic lights) that way if you're the evil person you can watch your victim suck into the void of space. Or watch/guide a friend into it.
-> Music, a little cantina music in the cafateria area would be great but of course not required.
-> more areas? (though i can't exactly think what else you could add!)
Otherwise it's a GREAT map, Very well done and as i've stated multiple times. Very fun! Thank you for the addition.

You can spawn the thruster packs in the SWEP menu.

He has a point there with the nodraws and func_details, but the map still owns every damn map i've ever seen for GMod.

I don't want to sound like a noob but should this guy be reported for what he said? It was uncalled for and he could have just rated this a 1 instead of trying to drive people away and then calling everyone stuiped and blind. It is still a very good map with just a few bugs that don't [i]NEED[/i] to be fixed.
I just played the map for a bit and it rocked, admitadly I managed to lock myself in one of the jail pods while looking for the escape capusuales, maybe when the 2 minutes starts you should make all the pods pop up.
As I said great map, and with some editing could be one of the best horror maps of all time, or was it just me who got a bit creeped out walking along that empty ship ?
I think lazer is on a vacation and doesn't want to open hammer for a while :D
And all the lag comes from the lua, nothing to do with nodraw(wich he used...)
But any great map, will get some ones :(

Do you even know what those do?
Because I don't think you do.
Otherwise you'd know that there aren't a lot of places that you can use nodraw or func_detail in this map seeing as you can see the outside of the ship as well as the inside and seeing as source really isn't designed for space environments it can't be optimised very much.

I get that occasioanlly, look away for a bit and it should go away.
turn off your flashlight. That is what usually causes a white box.

That happens when you have the flashlight on.
Awesome map, had a few problems though.
Problem number 1: The reactor only requires one person to blow, a wee bit too easy.
Problem number 2: The bridge the chair doesn't work and minges can prance in and initiate lockdown. Perhaps a lockdown override? Or lockdown goes off after 2 minutes?
Problem 3: The lag. Lots of people complained. In singleplayer I only lagged when looking out the windows. I don't really have a problem with this.

Invisible faces and ones facing the void are automatically culled by Hammer when it is compiled, nodraw is only good for levels like the ones in HL2 where you're not supposed to see all of it. (The roofs of buildings, for example.)
func_detail is, as it name suggests, for details. They do not reduce in-game lag, but compile time.
Don't come in here flaming and calling the map crap if you have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

If you mean the escape pods, the doors don^t open unless the reactor goes into meltdown.
The restraunt type area sort of reminds me of the bridge (the colors and layout) on that huge ship on spaceballs, good job!
No, i mean like the captain's chair or the pods on the ships you can spawn.
