Great job converting and fixing my map. I hope the decompiled source allowed you to learn a thing or two about how some of the HL2 entities work. It's really touching to see a project I started 3 if not 4 years ago still interest a fast-moving community like this.

And yeah, I learned a couple things in the process.
Now that I actually took a look at the map, it seems you took out a whole bunch of features that I put in. That's kinda sad. Liking the retractable tables in the restaurant though. For those times when you just gotta have a space-rave without tripping over furniture!
tryed it was good but where's the satellite that plays the music i can't find it ?
somebody will drag it inside and hide it in a room and repeatedly spam the music

It had this ball, the same one used by Breen in the last level, as the core, but whenever I'd get to it, GMOD would crash.

the only downside to this new version is that the escape pods dont glide off they kind of just glitch and then fall down when released

I haven't been quite up to date on the goings-on here. What exactly is SST? Here are some more peeves about the conversion: -You should change the wall texture in the engine room. Back in Source 04, using a model (vertexlitgeneric) shader on the world was a-ok, but now you have to use the map-specific lightmappedgeneric shader or you'll get weird lighting issues. Back in the day, I did a stupid thing and used the model shader version of that 4-stiped metal material. There should be one just like it that uses map solid geometry. -The new vent access to the reactor is nice, but at least add a goddamn ladder entity to the final part and make the vent covers breakable or unfreeze on damage. -What the hell is up with the new crew cabin textures? They look like goddamn prison cells. What about the random plaid forcefield at the end of the hab block hallway? -The huge-ass laser cannon still operates, but you removed the beacon spawner. Either remove the whole system altogether, or put the beacon back. -Bridge forcefield starts on. -Matter converter still dissolves props. At least make it kill players too and add a switch to temporarily shut it down somewhere to make it more challenging to access the reactor vent. These are what I can think of off the top of my head. I'm all for you converting my monstrosity of a map to your purposes, but you really gotta put more work in.

The plaid is supposed to be a curtain to the showers. The rest are valid points. It'll probably be fixed in v3.

What ever happened to GM_Orbit 4? That looked awesome!

Hello. I am somewhat new here and hope that there is still someone around to answer my question. I downloaded this map twice. Once from Garry's Mod.org, the other from FPS Banana. both times when I started GMod and loaded the map I got a huge amount of black and purple squares. On the file from FPS Banana I got both the squares and a messed up window. Now the questions are do I need certain games that contain these textures, or do I need to find them somewhere else. The squares are on walls and floors and that big asteroid outside. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and if you do, how can I fix this? This looks like an awesome map and I'd really like to try it out without those stupid squares. Thank you all for your time and patience.
'Somewhat new' being half a year ago. One post. :confused: Also, the map is pretty old, and was done soon before the release of Gmod 10, and that is why it is broken. It's like four and a half years old
Oh god, I remember this map. So many great memories in HL2DM. I still remember that button in one of the control room, if you would press it would say "R.I.P. Dog, died from cancer" or something.

Definetly one of the best rp maps ever made, but most of the things have been broken for years. It's still a classic like rp_hometown1999 and oviscity which i must admit to be my faivorite rp maps, even when they're no longer played.(not that i like their bastard childs) But the functions which break over the time or ruin the gameplay shouldn't be ever added, Things like admin rooms. anyway. This map should be reduxed and overall improved.
