This is a problem because content created before entering is not allowed, and even if it is for the contest which usually adds exception, it is too easy to cheat through with this and too difficult to moderate. I will add both of you though.

I don't think I'll be able to compete in this. I have no ideas. Every time I start working on a map, I'll get like one room done and I'll just be brain dead again.

I used to run into the problem all too frequently until I started drawing out some general floor plans/the outline of the map. It may seem kind of ridiculous to literally draw out your map at first, but trust me, it helps SO much.

building a separate map of the underground areas then later on after the contest I'm adding it to the star_pass map as the mining area.
two maps become one kinda thing if the source will allow it. if not then star_pass will have a smaller underground area that planned

I usually work solo but underground is new territory for me in a sense. its not all that hard but the detailing and lighting can be tricky to make it look half ass decent. also source has a limit on planes and making tunnels that curve and displace are murder on this limit.

Just made a little video to show the little elevator thing I've been working on, since I can't do anything else because my two companions are never on at the same time, so we can have a meeting :frown:. It, and the shaft it rides in, need a LOT more detailing, but it's coming together fairly nicely. It also needs two large winches up at the top of the shaft, since the cogs are there only to guide it down straight. (Or else they'd have to have a motor on the elevator.)
Finalizing and uploading it now, I'll post it soon.
