Yay updates.
Put an env_shake where the elevator stops, and make it trigger when it hits the bottom. It seems wierd for that whole shaky precarious ride down to end with a smooth landing. [editline]. [/editline] Oh, and add some dust kick-up effects, I dunno what it's called, but it would help convey the "hard drop" effect you want.
Thanks salmon, I was trying to think of a way to make it less smooth. :buddy:
I was surprised by the door in the end of the video.
Yeah, part of my map will be natural caves, part will be caves coated with smooth walls of concrete. I will make a fairly clear division in what has been there for a long time, and what is new. (clean/dirty concrete.)
Right, 2 questions. 1. Can I have it in Multiple maps? I'm planning on making it into a kinda campaign. 2. How the hell would I make so that when I pick up an object, and place it somewhere, it would trigger something?

But that means any old physics object could trigger it...unless you make it specific to the ent name
1. I suppose you can. I do think they'll be judged as a whole. So if one part sucks, the entire score will go down. Check with the judges. 2. Use a trigger_once, check Physics Objects, and give the object you want to carry a specific name. Make a filter_name, and set it to the name of the object, and so that it'll allow it. Hook the filter to the trigger, and you're done.
Is anyone still working on this, aside myself?
I've pretty much given up.
Began losing motivation pretty rapidly. :frown:
I'm still working hard. Well, sort of.
Progress is coming... very slowly.
I don't want the first contest I'm really seeing through to the end, ending up with me being the only one submitting a map to be judged. Out of a total of one contestant, I won. :smith:

Gah, I'm getting too wrapped up with my bridge. Still, we have a while left, so it's not much of a worry.
I'll get... started... this weekend.
I'm working on mine, I just have nothing worthwhile to show.
Why did SweetSwifter rate all of these posts friendly?
Why did SweetSwifter rate all of these posts friendly?
Because he is cool
Why did SweetSwifter rate all of these posts friendly?
He's friendly himself. :buddy:
Because I praise those that stick with the contest and try to make a good submission. :3:
Because he thinks he is cool
Fixed :v: Edit; Its a joke :sigh:
Fixed :v:
Meanie
Meanie
Sorry man, Don't hit me!
I'm really hoping to see some stuff reminiscent of the Penumbra games.
Aw man, garry's mod crashes with 'Client.dll Init() in library client failed.' , so I can't test out my maps. This sucks.

Personally, I prefer using Garry's Mod to test out maps. I find it to be more versatile, and it's easier to make/test a sandbox map when you play it in a sandbox game. At least, imo.
