I think Im going to quit this. I never want to work on it anymore. Sorry arty, I lost interest. Thanks for all of the help you gave us!
I'm going to have to hop into Eyefunk's boat , I've completely lost any motivation I had.
This might be the first time I enter a competition and fail to complete my map. :v:
Damn, I haven't even started yet...

Hey MenteR, any progress with that Sci-fi map? I'm really interested in it.
I haven't had a chance to work on my map. My RAM chips are acting up, and my pc keeps BSOD'ing.
I haven't had a chance to work on my map. My RAM chips are acting up, and my pc keeps BSOD'ing.
Replace them. That's what happened to me; bad RAM and constant BSOD. Get Corsair; best RAM you'll find.
Running my computer on 2GB now. Shit is slow. I also re-installed Windows, but managed to back-up all my files. So now I just have to re-install Steam and all that, but I still have all my map files and textures. I just hope it's my RAM, and not the DIMM slots themselves. I don't want to have to take my pc apart again to send the motherboard to Gigabyte.

6GB before. I used to have 12GB DDR2 on my old build. I just need all the RAM due to 3D modeling. For my work, I sometimes need to load in entire cities to work in.
You're lucky, I'm using a Intel Q45 onboard GPU for the meantime (My GPU shorted out on christmas day :v:)
I ended up moving onto other projects a long time ago. :frown: Sorry.
Hey MenteR, any progress with that Sci-fi map? I'm really interested in it.
No, man. I got a demo for Opposing Force 2 this month, and we're working hard to get some cool stuff in the demo. However, as soon as it comes out I'll resume work on that map.

For it to be that official, to convince the mods I think there would need to be at least 20 entries and a 3 month period rather than two month. In fact 3 months would be a lot better because that provides 4 contests a year, one for every season and 2-month contests always need extensions to get entries in, messing up an annual schedule. Should this be extended until March 1st?
You can extend it as much as you like. I'm waiting until the last week before i start on mine.
Don't extend this one and keep the next one 3 months. HOWEVER: If the mods agree to the title thing, extend it with a notification.
Don't extend this one and keep the next one 3 months. HOWEVER: If the mods agree to the title thing, extend it with a notification.
If the next one is 3 months without this one receiving an extension, then it would break the annual pattern before it begins.
Then... uhh... pester compiwhizzi/hezzy/hexxeh/garry/lithifold/TH89/Jaanus to do the free title award.
Or we could go with your idea and finish this on February first like planned, have another short one through February and March (or do nothing as a break) then wait a month and start the next on April 1st. Agree for having another short 2-month contest, Disagree for taking a break until April Fools Day, Informative for Skipping this seasonal contest idea altogether and keeping it like it is.
It's your competition. Just make a prize fund.
Old Gold members can gift for $5 so we just need a trustworthy gold to help us now... FIREGOD, COME WIPE MY ARSE AGAIN!

Might as well keep the contests how they are then.
http://livestre.am/du6G Let's rock.
-snip- Didn't see the page. Fuck you muffin, get your own money.
I think a sort of league table would be cool, Christmas time the winners would be given a share of any prizes pooled together in that time.
Personally i think 3 month is a very long time. even two is a bit extreme. If it was one month maps, that would make a league table more practical. And push the skills of the participants.
