Really? First of all i dont see anything mis-aligned, second of all, why does space between the glass and the door is required?
The glass is also unneeded. See the porthole in the door? That's what is looked through in a cell door. Remove the glass, add a strong looking doorframe. First image, look at the corner on the left hand side of the image. There is a line in the texture about 16 units to the right, where the two textures arn't lined up.
The glass is made in order to interract with the prisoners..
Why do you think there is a slit in the door model? The glass is a weak spot. Take the glass out, move the door to the centre of the cell, thicken up the frame.
How is it now? I know the textures are now really messed up but i'll take care of that tomorrow. Lol it makes the whole room look smaller. Edit: WHY THE FUCK DO YOU BLOCK ZIMG!?!?
That doesn't look anything like detention.
I know what I will say doesn't have anything to do with this thread but I will start a RP map in 2 days and I know there are 2 many RP maps already.
You still haven't moved the doors...they look really wrong. The stylised numbers are out of place. It looks more like a hotel. Well, expect there is a server on the wall for no reason. That should be in a server room, not in the middle of a detention block. Everything should have a reason, a purpose, a story. Generally rooms are blocky, but they don't have pipes and exposed cables, they have plaster, coffee stains, desks, dirt, grime. Use reference images, google is great for that. Also, the style of your police station will depend on the country. In the uk for example, a lot of smaller police stations still exist in their victorian era buildings.
Your door frames look black and ugly. The control buttons look like they shouldn't be there right beside the doors. The entire control panel looks ugly anyways; remove it and make a better, realistic one somewhere else. Like ironpheonix said above, the server and pipes don't look like they should be there imo, and neither do the fancy hotel numbers above the doors. Your choices of textures could be a lot better. Your architecture could be better too; make something better looking than a block room. Last but not least, your lighting could use a lot of work. Lights in real life are never 100% straight up white and the same thing should apply to maps. For your lights, you might want to place only one ceiling lamp in that room and turn up the brightness and lower your lights a bit farther from the light source. Also, add sprites to your light sources to make them look more believable. All in all, I see that you might or might not be so new but you're trying. If you listen to advices here and above, you could improve. Everything in a map should have a purpose. Why is that room there? Why are those lights there? Why are those props there? Etc etc but just keep in mind you should stray away from the typical common GMod maps that make no sense. Look at reference images and you'll see what I mean.
I know what I will say doesn't have anything to do with this thread but I will start a RP map in 2 days and I know there are 2 many RP maps already.
95% of the rp maps are (kinda) blocky and look the same. There's only few unique ones.
