I'm experiencing an EXTREMELY damaging glitch! For some reason, my 3D Skybox is producing this:

It's using the default non-3D Skybox for some odd reason, and my level is visible INSIDE THE SKYBOX, in the sky! What the hell? Anyone have a fix?
It's also affecting water!

What the hell do I do?
Sure you don't have a leak?
Is your sky_camera aligned correctly? Is the playable map skybox textured correctly as 3d sky? Etc.

The 3d skybox texture is the same as it was before and I had no issues. The sky_camera was not moved and again, I HAD no issues. These are new despite me not changing much.

Although carve is generally bad, in certain situations it's quite useful simply because you have no other choice. As a matter of fact, we just had a discussion about that in [URL=http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1237417&p=39186381&viewfull=1#post39186381]this thread[/URL].

I get this really weird bug that whenever I open up source SDK it validates the integrity of Episode 2's GCF. Every single time.
Anyone else had something like this? I've tried defragging the GCF but it says all is cool on that end

Hello again people. I just started using the 2009 engine, half life 2 episode 2. When I run my map though, it will just take me to the starting screen of episode 2 and not load the map. Anybody able to help?

Open up the developer console and type "map (your map name here)"

Just make sure the .bsp is in your "maps" directory in the "ep2" folder.

Quick question:
In Hammer 3.4 there was this rotate function where you could hold down SHIFT and it would rotate like 10° 10° .. And it would always "snap" on 90°C 180° ... You know what i mean.
How do i enable this function in Source SDK hammer ?
Tools>options>2d view>snap rotations

Sometimes the icons do that. It's just a visual glitch, but they should work fine.
As for the blackness, I'm not so sure.

Ok, it's good to know that it happens sometimes. The blackness is probably caused by something else. Thanks for the reply.

It's a regular vmt with nothing special:
"LightmappedGeneric"
{
"$basetexture" "pretzles/pretzels_tile_01"
"$surfaceprop" "Tile"
}
Plus, I figured out what was wrong with the icons. I had accidentally unchecked Generate Mipmaps in VTFEdit.
As for the black textures. That was a problem with the map and has been resolved.

What does it mean when i make something asleep? does that mean it is currently invisible or hiding?
I'm not sure I'm remembering this right, but I think it stops NPCs from targeting the player/enemies.

Got a big problem.. I'm making an edited rp_downtown for a friend of mine (me n my big mouth, never should have said i would do it) all kinds of crazy shit happened already, but this beats everything.
i don't even know how to explain this, but all the brushes are there in hammer, and there's nothing showing in the "map problem finder", but as soon as i compile it says there is a leak.. so i load my point file, follow the red line, but it goes straight through a brush, so i loaded the leaked map in GMod to see what the problem is, this is my result:
