Does anyone know how to actually make my map for CS:GO show up in the main menu?

The env_global_light is only used in Alien Swarm. sunlight_shadow_control is quite similar to env_global_light but sunlight_shadow_control was made for Portal 2 and CS:GO while still appearing in Alien Swarm. The shadows aren't nearly as sharp though, I took a pic here. [IMG]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17094269/lighting_test_010001%20%282%29.jpg[/IMG] I know he didn't use any props but you can see from the boxes in the background that it has a nice sharp edge to it, so I dunno.
I'm having a problem with Hammer recently. Every time I try to open the map I want to work on, it will look like it is working normally, but the "Post Load Processing" progress bar that pops up will get stuck at 33%, and Hammer will crash a few seconds later. I tried loading cp_game_entities, which worked fine, but my map will always crash upon opening it. Oh, and now I just tried it again, but have a completely different problem now. The map will finish loading without crashing, but now everything is black. This happened with every other map I loaded up. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/nN52p.png[/img_thumb] I tried refreshing SDK content, but that didn't do anything for either problem. This just started happening, right after the Mann VS Machine update.
If you're using ABS' mapping pack, you have to use his updated .fgd; the old one breaks hammer somehow.

Something I'm doing in Hammer is duplicating all blocks twelve or thirteen times, it is getting incredibly annoying when I want to move something and it turns out there is several of the same block in the same place. [img]http://i.imgur.com/u6dyY.png[/img] Here is the block selected, I then press the delete key and it deselects like I've deleted it, but there are several more of the same block inside. I have no idea why this is happening, but could it have something to do with the "grouping/ungrouping selected objects" tool? Dragging them out shows what I mean: [img]http://i.imgur.com/W5NcF.png[/img]
What do you do for inspiration? Or Tips to make sure you don't go and take a project you can't handle.

Everyone can handle anything thrown at them given enough time, but that is the key, Time. Half of great maps are ruined because of not enough time. Just have a budget and you can make wonders :)

Hopefully that's it, thank you. :) Edit: I think it's just a bug, upon loading the map again this issue didn't appear.
Does anyone know how to properly set up collision models for animated models? I've made the model of 2 parts of an elevator door, each one opens its own way and I've parented the each part of collison model to one side. I also used the Entity Report to find and delete all the ammo packs (since everything is black and I can't see anything), but that didn't solve anything either.

Make sure to back up anything you might have added or changed with a mod, though.

Nope, can only 'map mapname' into a custom map by yourself, or add it to a server rotation.

That or just make each door a separate model (better yet, use the same model for both) and parent them to an invisible func_door. Animated CM's are clunky.
What are the best additional game parameters when I'm ready to compile my map fir the final time, with preferably the best options.

But as for "making a cinematic camera" and "scripted destruction", it depends what kind of functionality the camera needs, and what is being destructed.
