Actually, the map was originally on the origin, and the skybox was below, but viewed from above, the sky_camera was on the origin. I figured it might have to be on both x & y origins just to be safe, so I moved it up there. My bad.
When I compiled my map for the 50th time, everything ended up turning black. I've never had this problem with this map before.

This seems to have broken the CS:GO SDK and it gives me this message when I try to launch hammer
"Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'M:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo'. Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting"
Is there a way to fix this without re installing all of steam?

In all honesty, I don't know if this is really a Windows 8 compatibility issue or not. Could be. Not to mention that your partition drive has changed. I dunno. Don't take me as a technical person or anything. I just hope you still have 7 to fall back onto.
So I'm trying to convert this little water texture into something usable.
The size is weird because I ripped it from an old game. I tried making a vtf and vmf as is, but I just get purple and bleck checkerboards. I tried messing around in vtf edit with the vmt settings but so far nothing has worked. Is it the size thats messing it up? I'm pretty much illiterate when it comes to textures.

Have you tried refreshing content and resetting game configurations?

Okay, maybe on of you has the same problem. Somehow, the CS:GO hammer won't display displacement alpha maps properly. It works ingame when I compile it, but in the hammer it will only show the original texture.

I think it is pretty great, and I got it for free VIA MSDN. Have not found much wrong with it.

Can't refresh content or game configurations, I tried re-installing the SDK but that didn't work.
Please can anyone tell me why I crash 80% of the time when a round starts in Counter-Strike: Source?
It's only on custom maps that I've compiled my self and only happens at the last second before the round starts. Happens even if it's an empty hollow box map. With basic player spawns and light_environment with default skybox. Happens regardless of team and when it doesn't happen it can sometimes crash randomly.
There's no error message, just "hl2 has stopped working". And certainly no compile error...

I've loaded a default map (cs_assault) and that crashed as well. I'm loading the maps via console (map <name>), it hasn't crashed from create server way yet.

They're lots of static props that add a huge amount of detail to your map.

If you have an Arms Race server, then it'll be automatic. If you just want to test a map in Arms Race mode, then after the map loads type in "game_type 1" then "game_mode 0".

Also, I have another question about changing the player models on a map. I was told that you add your map name in the gamemodes.txt file, and edit the player models to whatever you want them to be. Is that right? Because the file says "DO NOT MODIFY THIS FILE" at the top.
I'm not sure how to do it myself, but I [I]am[/I] sure you'll be fine doing whatever so long as you back up gamemodes.txt beforehand.
Is there a easy way to copy the Log from Portal 2 ? When i get error i cant select the log file because when i press a button it go out ... ive been able to copy it like 1 time on 100 . So I now train myself to read it entirely and find the error -.-
