Actualy the lights on destiny are quite clean.

Is it possible that you can make it so that the player spawns at Icarus base?? And after dialing to Destiny, you would spawn there instead??

No, make the players always spawn at Icarus, but don't give the Icarus gate an adress, so they can't dial back.

or just make the gate a random address and make it private so they have to find out the address, on one of the planets. Of course people could look at the gatespawner for the address but that's boring.

And then the script could contain say 8 different adresses that were replaced every time you loaded the map.
Example: First time you load the map, adress 1 is applyed, and second time adress 5. So that everytime it generates one of those 8 adresses randomly.
Would be cool if the address was on one of the destinies console screens in ancient :D

there could be 36 different addresses. 6 numbers in the address, so 6x6=36 therefore we could have 36 random generated number addresses.

You seem to suffer from some kind of comprehension disability. So I will [I]walk you through it[/I] one more time:
You stated in your first two posts that the map isn't as good as the others think, but didn't say WHY. That's [B]destructive[/B] critism, which is rude, unhelpful and totally unnecessary.
Later, but only after people repeatedly told you to provide reasons for your opinion, you did so and made evident you don't even know the original source the map is based on.
After being attacked for criticising, you then tried to defend yourself with "[I]If there wasn't any criticism, there would be no improvement...[/I]", hilariously ignoring that you didn't care for this kind of critism for your first few posts.
Look up the word [I]hypocrisy[/I].

Would you guys prefer simple addresses like DESTIN and ICARUS, or the "real" ones? For Destiny it would be TI@57V (first 6 symbols of its gate address). And since the Icarus planets address is unknown, I could use Earths address (EN2ZUB) just for the hell of it. :P

There already are two other planets besides the two you mentioned. An underground temple and a (really small and ugly) forest planet.
That should suffice for the first version.
I couldn't get much done last week, but I extended the icarus area with this corridor and some effects simulating bombardment (screen shakes, dust coming from the ceiling, flickering lights and muffled impact sounds).

I have the feeling the colors of the pipes and wall paint is too bright.

The blue's too bright the pipes are ok I think
the blue panels could be a bit lighter with a grey-ish tone...

Icarus: The adress idea posted above.
Destiny: My opinion is that you should take the first six symbols, as that would make it more real, since it's an rp map.

The Icarus set was a redress of the SGC set so you could take refrences from that as well, just use the Icarus colour scheme.

They didn't keep much in except for the foundation walls. Not much to copy from the SGC. Although it could be inspirational for unseen corridors, as the base probably was modeled after the SGC in canon.
Too bad we won't see Icarus base again. :/ Or maybe in a flashback? Hm.

Oh, back to the destiny:
Would anybody try to kill me if I don't make the elevators "true" elevators, but teleporters instead?
It would still (kinda) feel like using an elevator but technically you are teleported. The transition is barely noticable, I you don't spam the walls with bullet holes, blast marks or sprays. Or jump, run or move at all...
It saves a lot of ressources if I don't have to build elevator shafts all across the map.
I don't mind, perhaps some ambient noises of the lift moving before you are teleported?

This is my last post in this thread. You really need to realize that most people aren't giving you criticism at all, and are praising this map, which makes you think you are better than you are. That's why I posted that it's not as great as people said, so that you wouldn't automatically think you're better than you are. I gave you criticism, pretty much no one else did, so why don't you take it and improve on your map or at least not be an asshole when responding and making me think that you're an uptight prick? I mean, honestly, I don't know you, but that's the judgment I have of you.
Did you consider that we havnt nitpicked on anything because we know that it correct, this is a recreation of a real world object after all, and since you didnt even look at the real set, your opinion on this matter means apsolutely nothing.
The blue window textures used as lights doesn't look good at all :\
