At some point whatever image host they were using decided they weren't going to allow hotlinking, and made it so that all hotlinked images directed to that. Pretty clever :v:
On topic, this is probably one of my favorite maps of all time. It's a shame the creator is no longer active, a V4 in would be a dream come true.
Its also a shame that the crude workshop versions of this once good map don't have access to the config file, that was one of the most important features of GM_mobenix_v3 so you can turn on or off items to free up resources.
Update 8/29/2013: I did a test last night with the original version of this map then disabled the Workshop version, and the old one still worked, the only thing I had to do was rename the "info.txt" file to "addon.txt", I even was able to reset the config file to the setting I had to what they were before the big Gmod update. Once I saw that the original version of this map was working again, I just unsubscribed from the workshop version and deleted it since that one was no longer needed.
