The Facepunch Mapper's Texture Collaboration Project

It seems like if you link the jpmaz folder to your materials folder it would work fine.
I'm on a mac so I can't try it out right now.
my texture paths are incorrect because I use dropbox for lots of other stuff. If someone fix them they'll work.
I went ahead and fixed it.

Actually fixed every error i could.
Also, would anyone in the project like to get all of the sims textures someone posted on Facepunch? I could add the all if you'd like.
I think it should be up to the original porter of those textures to add them.
Should I add these when I get them to work?
First real texture work, btw :)

Sure, add anything you want. It's what this project is about.

Thank you so much, Firegod. You fixed all of the errors!
Im currently converting all the textures from Tropico 4...
People are still using this so I thought I might give it a strong bump. I am still accepting anybody wanting in on the project, even if you don't intend to make textures.
I can't be bothered to get dropbox, but here are my old BioShock textures:

You're very kind, thanks.
In case someone doesn't want to use dropbox:

I hope they are some use to all of you, the two glass textures are transparent.
I don't plan to add any if i get invited, but is pornography acceptable?
Excuse me for making a request, but I can't find a good cork board texture. Can somebody do that for me? Thanks in advance.

I just added one to the pack for you.

Here is a download if you don't want to download the whole pack.

Since I am not sure what you were going to be using it for I only made it a 512. I or someone else can make a larger one later if you need it.
When you go to use it I'd suggest scaling it down to 0.125

Thanks a million, yeah this will do for now.
I've been seeing a lot of Metro 2033 inspiration on the Pimpage/WIP thread, so I've been doing a lot of texture ripping from that game and I could be finished here soon. It depends on when I get around to it since I'm enjoying Battlefield 3 too much.

You'll be helping me out bunches.
Anyone able to rip some Arkham Asylum/Arkham City textures?

Same.
My old materials here (and some models).
I'll be pooping out some overgrowth textures soon this week. They got some good shit man.
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but can anyone make a better elevator door texture to replace this one for me, or does anyone know where to find one? The only one I can use is this one:

Yeah, it's crap.
You would have to change the models(?) texture, assuming its a model. So basically place it in where the vmt is in the gcf for it.

Im just looking for a better elevator door texture, as the one the brush is using is complete and utter crap, especially for the look of my map.

Go into CSS with GCF and look for "metal/offelevdrsa"
Which will be in the metal folder.

Probably quite a dumb question, forgive me. But how do I install these custom textures and stuff into Hammer? :v:

I'm having trouble getting "metal/offelevdrsa" into hammer. It keep coming up as a pink checkerboard texture. Is there some special folder i need to put it in to get it to work. The map is a Garry's Mod map, so I'm a little unsure as to what folder to put it in.

Put offelevdrsa.vmt and its .vtf into the current game you're using on Source SDK, Example is Half Life 2: Episode Two
So you're in GCF and you have the vmt and vtf file from its directory and you extract those to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\NAME\half-life 2 episode two\ep2\materials\metal
You have to make sure you create the metal directory otherwise it will be different from the vmt files directory.

Thanks, it worked, although i'm not quite sure that's a clean enough looking elevator door to work for this map. I'll have to compile to see how it looks in-game.
I'm dumping quite a bit of Metro 2033 textures in the collaboration. It's currently just source files, no VMTs, and they are not organized in the best way yet. If you wish to use some of them, copy them from that directory I've made into your own user folder. I'll be working with those textures for while until it's finished; good material organization, ssbump, envmaps, etc.
You will find some pretty incredible stuff in there. Most of it is 2048^2 or 1024^2.
