Jason-PC keeps deleting lots and lots of files. Is this supposed to happen?
jason-pc was the one that deleted the metro 2033 files And i get removed from this for that bs?
I created a cool "instant messaging" folder for questions and information. Please contribute with awesome stuff you may know.
I created a cool "instant messaging" folder for questions and information. Please contribute with awesome stuff you may know.
Just for clarification. I thought the Metro 2033 files I put up were deleted by Dave. That's what the message told me initially. Shortly thereafter, the files were put into the folder "useless dds files." So I guess they were moved. Jason-PC is me if you didn't know. I was relocating them to the folder "metro2033", so it may have look like I was deleting things like it did for Dave. Anyway, I overreacted over the issue, so I apologize. Please consult me if you're going to be moving and editing files that were not put up by you.
Come on hostel I want in on this I hope I sent you the right email :v:
Okay, thought I'd revive this to say that I'm very slowly starting to put the .vmts and Normal/Specular maps in for my BioShock textures. First one should be done now. If someone could just check that I've done the .vmts right and that they work in-game that'd be great.

Also, I believe I have invited 30 members to the project, cheers!
Right, that's all the BioShock textures updated. I love to see someone use them sometime.
Here are some of them:
Dear lord, those are beautiful.
Dear lord, those are beautiful.
Well, those and quite a few others are under my username in the dropbox folder now. If anyone does feel like doing something with these, I have some models I can send you too.

Right now I'm working heavily on my TF2 map because I want to release it soon. In my spare time though I'll use those for sure. So did you make those textures? Any tips on how to make them that beautiful?

I just scaled them, combined the normal and specular maps in GIMP and wrote the .vmts. Some of them are a bit too shiny, so the speculars could probably do with editing really.
Ah, well I'll be sure to do something with these soon. They're amazing.
They are very well done, right. Especially the chipped textures and the marble one.
They are very well done, right. Especially the chipped textures and the marble one.
I agree. I'm totally jealous. :v:
It's good to see new members joining to this day! I just wanted to let everyone know that this project is not dead, everything is running and doing well.
I've done a few more BioShock textures, I'll add them when I've got time.
I'd love to get copy's of these textures though I doubt I'll have much of anything to contribute, not till I learn a few things.
Alright, I've added whatever Rapture textures I've made since I last updated them, except for a few decals which I need to scale properly and a puddle texture which I need to add an alpha channel to. I'm afraid they're not named very well, you'll have to search 'Rapture' to see them all, rather than searching 'wood' or whatever. Sorry about that.
I'd love to get copy's of these textures though I doubt I'll have much of anything to contribute, not till I learn a few things.
Get a dropbox and then ask Hostel. Its' fine if you're not a texture artist, I'm not either.
You guys should upload a public file at the end of every month that includes all of the material's you've collected thus far.
I think I'm completely dumb, because for god's sake I can't find the "Pick Link Source" option when I rightclick the collab folder inside my dropbox folder. Am I missing something? There's only 2 dropbox options, "Share this folder" and "Browse on dropbox website". Apparently it's not as easy as just creating a shortcut in my materials folder to the collab folder. Edit: Yep, I'm completely dumb, because I forgot to download the shell extension...

I guess this also became some what of a pimpage thread for these textures, which I think is okay, it demonstrates the textures in action.
I guess this also became some what of a pimpage thread for these textures, which I think is okay, it demonstrates the textures in action.
But as far as I can tell all of those textures in the above image are default HL2 ones...
