This looks amazing. How close is it to being done?
This is some really nice work. The only thing that puts me off is the materials. I'm guessing that's the feel you were going for, but personally, I'm so bored of seeing the textures.
Other than that, the map is looking really good(architectural-wise). Seems to have a nice flow, although that's hard to tell with out playing it.
Looking very nice and professional! I hope to see this on some RP servers soon, will give some more life to Garry's Mod.
I really like what i'm seeing with the pictures so far, anything but a downtown edit is nice at this point. I can't wait to try it out!

I tore through a lot today,
-I made windows respawn after 2 minutes so the map won't look like it's been to hell and back after an hour of playing
-I added a small noclip-accessible admin room (no stupid "kill server" buttons or any for that matter, just a graphic with map credits in a small room with a nice look over the square)
-I did a fix-sweep on bugs we found last playtest. Good news: bugs are getting more and more sparse (and smaller and smaller)
-[b]Went through and optimized a [i]lot[/i], hint brushes in the underground have given me a 50% -> 100% FPS boost (it was rendering aboveground in the sewer in some spots)[/b]
-Fixed (hopefully all) of the doorframes that had their textures misaligned (this was widespread)
[b]I'm [i]hoping[/i] to release before 2014. Maybe a Christmas gift to everyone. I may have a public open beta on my server before it goes up for download (to prevent it from being released early I think I'll plaster it with "BETA" signs everywhere to the point it's ugly no one would want it until it's done or something, heh)[/b]

Actually, it seems like it would be a good idea to make that a manual button in the admin room. Some maps have that automatic window regen and it ends up trapping people inside of the windowframes until they're killed, and it's generally more of an annoyance seeing as I've seen practically nobody in favor of it.

So everyone (and by everyone, I mean like... two) seems to favor a button to respawn windows rather than a two minute timer after it's broken.

Oh, it's in the tiny admin room. The admin room only has that button and the map credits. No stupid "kill entire map" button or that crap
So now you guys can argue that the default setting should be "NEVER" (it's currently default at 10 minutes)!

Okay, making the roads wider would make the map appeal to most server owners since there server most likely has vehicles.

for a map that's walking distance like downtown v2, driving cars is kinda pointless. everything's pretty close together actually. the main focus in the map from what i played is actually the sewer, which i love.
Absolutely. I hate that other downtown remakes often leave the sewer out, putting complete control in the hands of the surface dwellers. Maps like that need alternative routes.

Too often, I'd find myself using the sewers in v2 as an escape route and access way to maneuver out of reach of some prop-blocking scum.
Ah okay see I should of asked what gameplay style you were going for first. Anyway ill defently be using this map on my server since i am digging that sewer.

-I think all should be tightened up and working 100%, but that's what the playtest day is for.

It's actually fairly compact, the road is shaped like a U with the canal running through the center of it. There's a pedestrian foot bridge connecting either side of the U in the middle. Not to mention all the underground paths. I suppose you could drive a jeep around, but I mean, you'll go from one end to the other in like, twenty seconds.
