Hi..its me mackalda back to personally apalogize.. I was completely out of line and I really hope you all on the team forgive me. I was in a frustrated mood at the time and let my anger seep into this. I am very sorry for my rude behavior and apalogize to each and every one of you. I'll gladly make more posters for the ship if someone gives me ideas.
Ah you see, you should have asked us about the gamemode :P cos the gamemode is made for the map, not the map for the gamemode ;)
Ok cool I have one little sugestion after playing it again today. Don't seperate the garage and hangar on the ground base make them all one big room so mechanics/officers can go straight from ships into cars and such and put some of the lifters so you can inspect bottom. Its just a hastle to have to keep walking around when they could all be in the same room.

Ok, sorry if this sounds like a noob question, so i apologize. But I've downloaded the latest few versions of PlanetFall V2 from here ([url]http://fastdl.gmodworld.com/PLANETFALLRP/maps/[/url]) and for some reason every one i try closes my GMod as soon as i try to get on it, apparently i am missing something it needs to run it, i might give it another try and tell you exactly what it says. But in the meantime could you please tell me exactly what i would need to get onto the map (rp_planetfall_v2-b4-2.bsp) Thanks.

Its just a hastle to have to keep walking around when they could all be in the same room.[/quote] I have been meaning to connect them for quite some time, I just never got around to it because the building is pretty much unused at the moment (since there's no ships). I probably won't add lifters in there because they are just small rooms to store your car - not really big enough to build/work on anything. I can add in a seperate mechanics building though. And I just remembered I COMPLETELY forgot to make/upload the partial map pack for the event. Oh well, I should have time tomorrow morning.

So the reson the maps don't work is because you forgot to put the materials? Shouldn't having the other maps with the materials make it work then?
@ Nardix - Sunday, 10am I think, although it may change, keep checking the group event thingy! @ rookie - The oldish ones are pakratted, meanning Shadow uses this cool program to attach the textures to the map like you would with an email attachment, it is saved as one and uses as one but they work together, so when the map is loaded it will always have the textures. Only problem with this is unlike an email you cannot extract these textures as they are saved into the BSP, so Shadow has to pakrat EVERY map to get them in, and because he uses a CRAP load of textures this usally doubled the size and made downloading/uploading a bitch to do. Portalcake sugested putting the textures on the server so the maps were much easier to move, so shadow did that and stopped pakratting and thats whats happened. Now I joined the server today and I havn't played in AGES and had to download 2 new textures, which downloaded and went into my materials folder, so why it doesn't work with you I am stumped.
It might not work due to the fact that the last one I played on there server that it had to download was v2-5.
Well, I've just connected to the server and it says v2-4b-1...

Rookie, the crashes are NOTHING to do with materials. I am quite certain of that. I think it was only maps past about v2-b3 that I stopped using Pakrat, so if you join the server running a newer version, it should download the materials fine. [b]Edit:[/b] I've uploaded all the early beta versions of Planetfall (pre v1) to the website, along with JE, but I'm afraid all the other maps were too big for me to be bothered. downloaded v2-b4-1, looks fantastic! shadowsand, a little addition to the cave system: at the shutting doors (with the security override) the cave displacements blocks players , they can go in only via crouch... But everything seems to be good (as a little cheater i didn't download all materials, just extracted most of them from v2-b2-5, because my internet connection sucks). still downloading that pre-beta, hope it will be as good as b4-1...

ShadowSand, a question: why the hell is inf-cerberus in the PF pack? ok, ok, i'm happy to have it, but i dont understand the map... maybe a little guide or something? and some little idea about the PF v2: make those green stones radioactive (in the elevator in the cave) add some more lights in the underground cave system remove the outside door switch from the tower with the dome shield i cant see the usage of the caves in the lift interior a little more tech could be good in the caves (something combine-ish, like hanging metal thingies and so on) I think thats all, hope I helped you

The PF Run events are not just for PF maps, they're for all my maps, PF Run was just the coolest sounding name we could think of. There is a guide for Cerberus somewhere... [url]http://planetfallrp.com/Cerberus%20Guide.html[/url] Freshly uploaded. It looks ugly, but I made it a few years ago so... It seems a bit silly to make stones radioactive when the players HAVE to go past them in the lift loads. Plus, just because something glows green doesnt automatically make it radioactive/poisonous, it's just more likely to be. The lower levels of the cave system are mostly natural caves. The only places that electrical lighting is used is around the underground structures or where the caves collapsed and had to be reinforced. The only type of light i would add more of are the glowing rocks, which are a possibility. I may remove the outside lever for the tower, but doing that makes the ladder on the side mostly pointless. The lift interior is very useful because it means you can move down the levels without needing the lift. E.g. when there's no power or you don't want to let people know you're there. Later I may also add a ladder so you can climb back up the shaft. The caves are pretty new, so expect a lot more stuff... once I get the map working again.
