You know Mac, you could tell me what you think too......I don't mind who replys but all I want is a yes or no. Your a member, you can answer, please D:
Ray, stop talking about what I plan to do as if you actually know. I've been planning to retexture the ship since I made it, but I want to finish the exterior hull first. Oh, and Fonix, I can't really add that to the map, but if me or Kaffo are online, just ask us to come and change the map to whatever you want.
First, I could help you in texturing, I have som experience in PS... Second, I meant that you should add this to the gamemode! So if we are playing inf_cerberus, and nobody is online after some hours of active gameplay, then restart the map...
But I don't get on the planetfall server so my answer doesn't affect me at all.
So what's the current version? I haven't really been keeping track.
Current one is V2-b4-1 :D Also, sorry Mac but I thought you were there during the event 0.o guess that proves me wrong, sorry again.
I've tried a couple of times to join but it always says I need about 300 models so I soon quit. Maybe soon I'll join go take a nap then come play I haven't really been keeping up on progress.
Why not let it download the shit, and take a nap at the same time? Thats what I am going to do when my computer with steam and shit on it gets internet hooked up in about a week. This is from my moms phone BTW.
well, I would be happy if there were some eventswith maps, and some race too (who gets to the inf_cerberus'S level 1 control room sooner, and so on), and maybe some posing contests too....
Nice work on the ship with the lights, does make it better. Also love the generator.

Though people like me and Kaffo would have to just spectate on them cause we would blatently win :P Especially on Puzzler... Speaking of which, for those who don't know, the Beta of Part 2 is now on the server. It's still fairly early beta, but the first hub is pretty much done. Just let an admin know and we will change the map.
Wanna know what sucks? My computer will never get internet within the next 6 years. Mostly because it is $400 to add a new computer to our interwebz plan, and in 6 years I will be living on my own.
Bloody hell, that's nasty dude :S
shadow, found out why your maps are ugly... please use MORE cubemaps, and it will be better! and i think im missing something from puzzler v2... maybe hub 5?
Is this done? any Ip's ? i wanna play with people !
hey, search for the ip in the topic, it is here somewhere...
First post on this page. 78.143.252.49:27028
thanks, metallics... i had no time to search, currently making rp_measurecity... [editline]02:01PM[/editline] wow, found out something... shadowsand you have used many-many materials from the cncr04sp3 material pack! like the box textures and so on... so if you make some cubemaps, it will look lot better!
I HAVE used quite a lot of cubemaps in some of my maps, especially PFv2, and some in Cerby. Even PFv1 had a few. Puzzler part 2 and JE don't have any because they don't have lights (so I don't compile them with RAD or VIS). I'm actually not sure about Puzzler part 1. Hub 5 will be in part 2 eventually, I just haven't made it yet.
shadow, i rendered the cubemaps, but there weren't too many of them... a map with a size of like PFv2 would need a lot more, and bumpmapped materials, and some really reflective metal (because you are using metal materials, an d most of the not scratched metal's have reflections, except one or two...)
For those who haven't noticed/aren't in the group, I've organised a small event for tonight @ 6:30 GMT+1 (BST). That's in about 9 hours. This is the description copy-pasted from the group: Friday Night PF Today @ 06:30pm 78.143.252.49:27028 This will be kinda like the PF Run's, but not as organised/structured, and more just fun. If we get a reasonable number of people, and they want to do it again, this may become a weekly thing. Edit: For those who want to download .rar versions of the maps instead of getting them from the FastDL on the server, the PF Run pack has all of the smaller maps (beta versions, unfinished maps and cerberus), and I've now uploaded all of the larger maps seperately (PFv1, PFv2 and Puzzler Part 1). The only map not included is Puzzler Part 2 because I'm still working on that quite a bit so it keeps getting updated. All 4 zips can be downloaded here: http://fastdl.gmodworld.com/PLANETFALLRP/maps/
er, what about the pass?
it is starting! everybody to the server!
For some reason the normal FTP server is now asking for a password for downloads, so I moved the rar files here: http://fastdl.gmodworld.com/PLANETFALLRP/maps/ Also, I was late for the start of the event, but it doesn't look like anyone actually turned up except fonix, so I'm probably not going to bother with small ones again.
Well... that was saying something to me... nobody was/is online... without some people it isnt so fun... [editline]08:51PM[/editline] Shadowsand a question: how did you done the voice of emnisia?
Some of the clips are from System Shock 1 and 2, but a few of them are done the same way as the PF and Puzzler clips: 1) Use a Text-to-Speech generator to get the base voice 2) Normalize the volume to 80% (Ensures that it's audible and is at the same volume throughout the clip) 3) Add varying amounts of Echo and Reverb. The order I do them in and the amount/timing of them depends on the effect I want to give. Oh, and the cerberus ones did have... other stuff. The main example is the clip when you start the map. To make it stutter and everything, I made copies of sections of it, changed the speed and pitch of each one, then overlapped them in various ways. I think I did a few other tricks as well like background static and stuff. Basically I just make them up as I go along, then forget the details once it's finished.
For some reason the normal FTP server is now asking for a password for downloads, so I moved the rar files here:
maybe because you didn't provide a valid username and password ftp://username:password@ftp.domain.com
Friday night is a bad night to hold things like this. Certainly Most people I know (including myself) are or were out tonight.
Thanks Shadowsand, but could you tell me tha which Speech Engine have you used? I am working on a little AI and almostt got everything except the sound generation...
I see your point about Friday night... thing is that I'm busy most Saturday nights, and Sunday people tend to leave early cause it's work/something the next day, so Friday seemed like the best bet. Fonix, this is the speech generator I used: http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php Unfortunately, the default 'Crystal - US English' is the only decent one I've found. All the others stutter a lot more and don't sound as natural. Even she sounds pretty bad, but that was the reason I originally added the echo and reverb - it covers it up fairly well.
I was out for the night. I was on a jam session.
