Ever since Kraven shut down his Gmod servers several months ago, I've been unable to access the FTP for the PF website. However, he has now fixed this for me, and I have just uploaded the new version of the site. It has quite a bit, all of which is listed on the home/news page, so go take a look:

Well I think it's alright for now thanks. Apparently Kaffo has had a stash of latest PFv2 pictures lying around for a while, and I've just added them to the gallery in a funky slideshow thing that photobucket kindly does.

What he should do to help the map is make some things into models. To reduce stress on hammer. (I think) and so he can add more brushes without the map eating itself.
Maybe the pods and their cases, doors, elevators, and windows models maybe?

Hey guys, lookin' forward to the finished map! One question though: whatever happened to the gmodworld mirror for the map? I mean, I know that gmodworld no longer exists, hence the site's been shut down, but it would be nice having a semi-recent beta of the map for the loners in gmod. XD
Models for the drop pods have already been made, but not 100% finished (just a couple of tweaks to be made I believe. Many other things have already been converted to models (and look better because of it), and in the coming weeks I intend to convert more.
The time frame for the map being finished is sometime in the next 3 years (that's how long it took me to make version 1).

Hey. Im new to this forum. I downloaded and played your map (1.6) for hours. I just wanna let ya know that the download for 1.7 isn't working. Is the v2 beta the same/better? Just wondering. Keep up the great work.
Yeah, v1.7 was hosted on a server which was then shut down due to hackers (basically). As it says on the first post, v2 is rebuilt completely from scratch with a new ship design. As far as I am concerned, v2 is going to be better than the original in every way once it's finished. For now, it's already looking way nicer than the original, but it's lacking just about all of the functionality (flyable ships, lockdown, battlemode, teleporters etc. etc.)
I would suggest that if you want to play v2, you add me on steam (Shadowsand or PeterAyrian), then wait until we have a group beta test. If you do add me, just say hi and let me know that you want to be in the beta, and I will try my best to remember to ask when we do next play.
Though I'm not sure you can call January 2009 'new to this forum'... ;)

Epic news everyone! Using a tool which Kaffo showed me a few days ago called 'Propper', I can make models using hammer increadibly easily. They're not as fancy as 'real' models, especially not the ones made by Dlaor, and they can't have multiple skins or animations, but it's a perfect way for me to quickly and easily make models out of anything in a map.
But that isn't actually the epic news. The epic news is that I have used it to create models out of many of the brushes in PFv2, and as of a few minutes ago, it can once again compile with lighting!
I think he means the mapping forum.
Anyways, why didn't you tell me about the puzzler beta?

I meant new to this thread not forum sorry. Well. I played v2 and it is incredible. Still wish i could get v1.7 to fix the light problems. I am very impressed with the new one. It is very interesting. To get a better look I viewed the map in hammer. (I will not tell how/edit or reproduce this map). Keep up the good work and can't wait to see more.
You didn't know about puzzler cos you didn't ask :P and remind me to invite you again at some point cos for one it was a bit of a failure, some people aren't great at timing stuff x.x.
And yeah pbplayer, tis an epic map, if you want you should add either shadow or myself, he posted his steam user name earlier, mine is kas2006, either of us can invite to the steam group/set up a beta for the lolz.
Oh and Shadow said there were "interesting things" in the map that he's just put it. He won't even tell me though D:
All I will say about what I've been working on is that I've been replacing appropriate brushes with models, improving them where I can, and adding more to the map. Still a long way to go, but I'm starting to fill up the ship a bit more ;)
Oh, and I will upload v1-7 to filefront sometime soon so that you can try that. It has a lot more fixed than just the lighting, though admittedly I did have to take out quite a few things as well.

Cool. Good to hear. Lemmi know when you upload v1.7 again. And I sent you a Steam request too. It is pbplayerjim. I keep all my user names either the same or similar.
