Sadly, it isn't just you. This is to those of you who have never modeled or mapped yet assume that you can quickly become very good at either. Please don't bother requesting a part on the team. Your skill has nothing to do with how much you love Disney World. We have had many people who, even with prior experience, quickly realized that they were not capable of producing assets of proper quality for the project and promptly quit.

The problem with a project like this is that it attracts the unskilled. This is because those who do have abilty are either working on their own stuff or have enough experience to know that projects like this often die quickly and decide not to waste time. Of course, this assumes that the person is interested in the first place.

Also, no more "I can beta test" or "I can be an admin"

If you REALLY want to be a part of the project, then wait until you are good enough to join. Like I said, don't even bother to apply unless you have something to show off.
