It's still the normal format and it still comes up in the normal directory's. Addons it just used to make things a little more organised. So just upload it to addons or extract all the files like materials scripts maps ect to your garrysmod/garrysmod folder.
Woo thanks Xhizors :) I wasent sure just uploading it to addons would forcedownload all the materials and others.
WTF one of the mirrors seized by the fbi....
http://x1l3d.dabananabunch.com/files/gmod/gm_zonstruct.zip You messed up the link.... That's my 404 page lol..
ohhhhhhh woops.
The file size is reasonable, because 4024x4024 resolution textures is DEFINITELY not overkill.
Haven't gotten it yet, but I will download it eventually... That is the important thing...
Do a train map for once :argh:
Well done. I'd just find a better grass texture, and it would be just about perfect.
Hey this looks cool i'll get it HOLY SHIT 200 MB?!?!
When I Put This Map In Garry's Mod Wouldn't Load
Do a train map for once :argh:
Every other generic build map has a train system that EVERYONE uses.
Every other generic build map has a train system that EVERYONE uses.
I'll have to do that for the next and final version.
Nice map. Very well made, There are a few node graph errors, the elevators get stuck or fail to move and some of the lips on the doorways and such get you caught. Either way it's cons are outweighed by the pros
I'll have to do that for the next and final version.
:geno: That was sarcasm...
mininova is saying that the torrent does not exist.
Looks great Downloading
:geno: That was sarcasm...
ohh lol ill put some in for the sake of it anyway.
Yes, the map impresses me. But it's no good for much of us players. And when I say this I don't include me, because I have some performance with my pc. Your architecture and "extra detail" through those ultra-high-res texture adds the nice touch to the map. Indeed, I've never seen such a construct map until now. But in the future, please don't go for the high-res textures anymore. I have an ATI Radeon HD4850 and my max fps was 40 .... that stinks !
Optimized(lag free)
Could be, but the textures are ruining your so-called optimization. Have you at least tried to increase the lightmap textures ? Anyway, you could go for a smaller textures , like 1024x1024, it's double than normal. The grass, for example, the bullet holes are horrible (they look huge) and all you did was to increase its seam repetitiveness. For extra optimization you could delete the displacements at the bottom of the water, they're useless.( go for a flat bottom and add the displacements only at the edges). I could come with more suggestions, but you get the ideea. This map, unfortunately, will not be good at all for physics. Maybe ragdoll posing, machinimas, video making ... you know that sort of crap that doesn't imply physics too much. And again, 200 mb rofl !!!!
Holy Zombie Jesus! Best map I have ever seen so far.
I think there's a design bug, it's somewhere behind the mountain. I'll get a picture up sooner or later to show what I mean.
4024x4024 textures are useful if you like to use a projector on a theatre wall to play your gmod.
It was a nice touch to offer both Hi and Low Res versions of the maps. Don't listen to the "special people" who grouch about "yet another" Construct map. A well done one is always appreciated.
You would've been better off using 512x512 textures with 4096x4096 detail sheets. The detail sheets would only be black and white, so would be compressed to a really small size.
Alright so far the next version is going to include a massive city (custom textures). An underground subway and a grass hills section which will have another bigger mountian.
That fast zombie in the underground tunnels literally made me jump out my seat.
This design looks very familiar. I remember playing a map like this but with fewer features, a bit smaller in size with the lake on one side of the map (instead of in the middle) and a huge sand mound where the mountain is now. Oh right, it was XhS_construct. :P Anyways, this map looks pretty cool, I'll check it out when I get the chance.
This suffers from the same flaws as many of your previous maps. :\ It's file-size is too damn huge, first off. Most of the "features" of this map are fairly useless for..well, anything. The mountain is pointless, and looks like crap anyway. The elevators are buggy, and seem very..well..unfinished. Also, the optimization kind of sucks. I can normally get about ~100 FPS on most other maps, such as freespace06 or gm_construct_flatgrass, yet I get about 40 FPS on this map? Also, 4024x4024 textures is overkill. You could get the same results with some high-res detail textures and some nice bumpmaps, with 512x512 textures.. There are also quite a few obvious flaws, such as bad lighting in the indoor areas, poor entity-work overall, displacements peeking through concrete, etc. Do you ever learn? Stop churning out these maps one-after-another. Put more work and time into the next one. And next time you say "This is my last release" don't just make an alt pretending to be someone else.
agree ^

The more I play the more I notice the flaws, Things dissapering / appering when I get closer. The textures don't make much of a gameplay difference for the lag they bestow. It's a nice map, but not a masterpeice.
I have an ATI Radeon HD4850 and my max fps was 40
Funny, I have the same card and I get about 70 fps average, even when looking out into the distance.
