i guess it's a placeholder... now following the development of the map,...i'm really curious how it keeps on going :-)
Wow.... can the entire city actually fit in a map? I don't think Hammer can do that.
This has been discussed several times, please read the first few pages of the thread where things like scale and layout were discussed.
Looks really great, but why is the light inside the gateroom green?
For the gateroom's constructions and layout I'm referring to the Atlantis map made by Flyboi and Venin as it's the most complete Atlantis interior I've found yet. There was some criticism of the previous light colour not being authentic so I'm trying out the colours from Flyboi/Venin's alternative. Everything in this map is a work in progress and I will be trying quite a few alternatives to find the best match.
WoW, new beta, have to check them out! bunglist, what about making a separate, SVN-ed model pack, so you don't have to alway bspzip or packrat them?
bunglist, what about making a separate, SVN-ed model pack, so you don't have to alway bspzip or packrat them?
We are already discussing an SVN for all the Atlantis models. Watch this space!
Oh, so I am reading your minds now, eh?
ok seriously... what was the reason for bunglist to get baned? btw...i probably didn't mention that the textures for the satellite probe are missing...
ok seriously... what was the reason for bunglist to get baned?
Yeah thats what i wanna know :(

hmm, sucks to be bunglist... ok well I think this is likely to be a temp ban but in the meantime I might relay any messages from him if need be, I normally have him looking over my shoulder in steam chat anyway. oh and I'm not going to tell you what I'm working on now (not because I'm being all mysterious just because i have no idea what its called, iv been calling it "the pizza ship") http://upload.bunglist.com/pics/othershipthingy1.jpeg 2 things to note... 1. its very shiny, that's because I was testing a rough bump map technique and uploaded since I thought you might want a taste of what I'm up to 2.again that's only a render so chances are it will look a bit differently in source, it will likely look like that but with lower resolution textures and lighting. 3. forgot the third thing, give me a break! I made this in 3 days after a tea fuelled bender, curse you Netto! and your "but one get one free" deals on tea-bags!! - I'm assuming it will be a close race between getting it in source and developing diabetes

Also, it's an X-304 Daedalus class ship :D PS: It impresses me tremendously that you are able to create such models so quickly, without ever having watched Stargate.
Nice work, the only problem I can see is the shape of the hangers are wrong.
hmm.. ill brb, just need to make some small adjustments... http://upload.bunglist.com/pics/othershipthingy2.jpeg ok, ok, ill go fix them properly in next version. thanks for pointing out this stuff, I'm rebuilding stuff all you guys know and love so if there's any bits that you think should be different let me know, its also why I did that little plea for reference materials in some reply above.
hey guys, im in the process of making a better detailed drone chair heres where im at:
Nice ship matt! I'll repack the satellite textures next beta - we may set up an svn so you guys don't have to keep downloading the same stuff over and over. Wiki is up, look at http://bunglist.com for any updates or info. I'll be making a new site specifically for Atlantis soon.
bunglist, why don't you make a separate forum there? So we can discuss stuff there and if you get banned here then you can talk with us without the help of anyone (not if it was too bad, but it's better to talk with your Molotov Bear than anyone else... SO no offense against matt or anyone!)
This forum? >P
Yeah, just after I posted the link I noticed that version 3.0.6 was out and it was 3.0.5 currently - it's mid-upgrade right now and should be back up by the time you read this. [editline]edit[/editline] had to jinx it didn't I.... Looks like the updater updated it from "Working" to "Broken" in 10 frustrating steps. Top quality work there phpBB..... I think their update wizard is drunk. Looks like a fresh install then, will be a couple of hours.
Unbanned! General Discussion is not the place for Science and Fun, it's only for discussing catching your friends being gay, talking about Twilight/masturbation. Lesson learned! I promise not to talk about science or anything else interesting. Please warn me if my posts are getting too interesting, are too close to having a point or aren't enough about gayness/twilight/masturbation. Back to the point - Nice ship matt! I'll repack the satellite textures next beta - we may set up an svn so you guys don't have to keep downloading the same stuff over and over. Oh, and just in case I get banned again, look at http://bunglist.com for any updates or info. We now have an SVN! https://sgamp.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/sgamp/ All of the models and most of the materials used in the map are now in this SVN repository so you won't have to keep downloading the same stuff each time there is a new release. Using this SVN means map releases can be a few MB zipped and around 30MB unzipped (previously about 30MB zipped and over 130MB unzipped) All the models have been put into a spawnlist for your use in general gmod building too - the spawn list is called: [SGAMP] SG Atlantis Model Pack Install info: Make a SGAMP folder in addons and "Checkout" the SVN to that folder.

The export feature is handy, but preserving the svn files is important if you want to update in-place quickly and easily. I like the ability to select every folder in addons and hit SVN Update then go have a cup of tea.
