Yorkus: Those look great! You able to turn them into models usable in source or you have these as 3ds max or similar?
KevinSGA: Crikey! There's over 78,000 screengrabs there! I'm thinking of using my wiki to begin collecting useful images into categories, like screenshots of a particular wall type or light fitting, I'll set up the basics and we can see if it's workable - that many screenshots will take a very long time to go through individually and some sort of collaborative effort would save a lot of time.

Ok, basic structure set up and some images put in.

You'll need to register but it's painless and non-invasive. This is because it's been heavily spammed by anonymous edits in the past, taking hours to clean up.
I've added about a hundred images to the wiki these last couple of hours - lots of very useful ones for modellers!

I've done about 10 compiles looking for a half decent shield texture and have been discussing how to go ahead with the gateroom as space is so tight. These images will really help with the finer detail of the layout I was needing.

Looking good, keep up the good work! I've never made models with anything but Hammer and propper - does anyone else have any experience of this and want to help compile these models?
Ive done most of it now (ancient writing took ages!) Heres where im at.

this as a choosable wire-button with secondary mode to take off the front-panel would be *wow*

And a weapon with the LS detector model, to force the doors open when they are closed :D:D
And a way to take the crystals out, and shortcut it like in the episode with the energy consuming monster on atlantis.

Nice work mate!
Yorkus, we need to find someone to start getting these models compiled and into the map so I've been looking around for some good tutorials and found a few good looking ones:
Votekick's tutorials (he uses 3DS Max too)
http://votekick.com.au/tutorials.php
Compiling:
http://votekick.com.au/tutorials.php?tut=4
Detail Model:
http://votekick.com.au/tutorials.php?tut=14
Physics model:
http://votekick.com.au/tutorials.php?tut=16
SMD Exporter plugin for 3DS Max
http://www.wunderboy.org/3dapps.php#max_smd
Model compiler (gui version)
http://www.wunderboy.org/apps/guistudiomdl2.php
Anyone want to volunteer to give compiling those models a try? (I'm a noob with 3DS Max)

but hey...i'll look into it and see if there's a way to get my hands on 3dsMax again somehow ^^
not meaning that i'm the only person who would want to help :-)

XSI is the free package (based on SoftImage 7 I think), you can get the link from your Source SDK launcher.
It's a bit older, clunkier and crapper than 3DS Max but you don't need to be rich (or a pirate, arrrr) to get your hands on it.
XSI already has some model exporting support built in too, worth a try at least.
KevinSGA, I advise you to delete that message because you will be banned because of it!

By the way, bunglist, I've just got a Lost Tribe ship (seen in season 4 or 5, can't remember), what is very nice (but kind of untextured). Do you need it?
Also, the models I've got with it:
-Supergate
-Midway Station (half-finished)
-Some asgard ships, like the beliskner
-A nice (and untextured, too) wraith cruiser (not a hive, but a heavy space battle bomber)
-Some hatak models
And if anyone knows how to convert Nexus MSH meshes to 3DS max format, then I appreciate the info! Yes, I've tried with MilkShape, but most of the files (files over 5-6 MB) just crash MilkShape...
Can you upload it somewhere please?

if the textures are wonky it might take a too long to fix it, but it depends on the detail - could you up some screenshots maybe?

Can who upload what?
Hi there everyone, i'm Mattster.t AKA "the guy who made all the surrounding buildings on our current beta of the Atlantis map"
now as blasphemous as this is iv never actually watched SG before so I don't know if there are any iconic buildings that you would like to see in the map. in short I'm taking requests for what buildings i should map and model next, I would prefer an image to reference but I also take any of the following...
- sketches or rough drawings
- Sketchup, Blender or 3ds models that you think are faithful to the buildings you want
- screen caps that are clear enough to make it out
- small scale models of the buildings created out of confectionery or sugar cubes (Email as attachment)
- naked photo's
- vmf's or other source models
ah and before I forget I have a little check-list here of the buildings I'v already massacred

you can reply to this post or on our specially constructed discussion page on our wiki, no pressure but if you don't use it bunglist might cry, where you can send any material or buildings you think NEED to be in this map along with some status updates too.
link to it is here http://bunglist.com/gmodwiki/Talk:Sb_Atlantis
Well, was that nice rounded glassy building on the NW pier... I don't have screenies at hand now, but tomorrow I will post some!
Bunglist, I have the materials, but in Nexus TEX format (IDK how to convert it to any READABLE format) so I can't promise anything... I will render some shots tomorrow!
But please, write together which ones do you want because I have a fucking slow connection...
[editline]07:57PM[/editline]
Oh, the building I'm talking of can be seen on your second pic, mattster, just left from the red number "3"!
