  • From what I read SBEP is supposed to have a menu along side Wire, Stargate, etc (unsure of what it is actually called.) Anyway, to the point, I don't have one. I have already tried reinstalling the mod etc but no menu.

As you can tell from the screencap, it's a compact version of those 2 wide to 1 wide hall sections. Hm. Maybe I should make a couple for the tall hull sections as well. I also improved on the Captain Chair model, adding a bit more detail and polys, while fixing the seating position. I also found out why you get a Lua error when you undo the Captain Chair; it's because in the file that designates models as vehicles, that chair is the only one that had apostrophies in it's name, and that was screwing up the coding, apparently. Up next for me includes that 2wide2tall bridge piece, and maybe taking a look at the SmB Assault Pod (which I noticed is intended to be a vehicle, but the problems with it look to be a not-so-great collision model and possibly incomplete modeling job) and probably those panel splitters. Also, Hysteria and/or whoever's responsible for the Smallbridge skin switcher should contact me on how to fix the issues I'm having with that tool and the parts I've made.[/QUOTE]

  • Ok people I'm back, after about a year. Now I'm studying Computer Science at uni, so I should be able to get some simple coding done. First up: does anyone just happen to have a copy of the sENT's that I made ages ago? The hard-drive they're on is 5 and a half hours away :S

  • I think it would be best to keep the SBEP addons in the same format they are now. It would make updating far easier for server administrators. If they get all reorganized, people may have to reupload them to their server via FTP, which is massively slow and can easily take hours to complete.

  • I'm rewriting my medical hypo at the moment, whilst relearning Lua. Can anyone tell me how to make the screen flash a certain colour? Also I've hacked together a new precision laser, currently it can be wired on/off, does damage, but the sound seems to stay when it's turned off.
  • I'm having a little trouble with this. Vehicles that use the reload key don't work for some reason. I press R, and mothing happens. I can't use mousecontrol or drop a pod from the bay. it works, though, if I type +reload in the console...

Although, the SmB hulls I've made need to work properly with the SmB Skin Switcher. But the rest of those parts seem about ready. (The missile pod in pic #2, that was just a rotation and position tweak in the lua for the launcher itself, not a problem with the model. Still fixed it anyway.) Also, you probably can use Maya for modeling stuff for Gmod. Not really sure what plugins you'd need or how you'd do all the conversion from Maya though. You'd have to search it up.

I THINK it might be incompatibilities, but I'm not too sure.

Also I've just about managed to re-code the seismic charge, although it occasionally bugs out for some reason and kicks me off the singleplayer game I'm in O_o

  • One thing I always wanted to see used were the rover tank threads :o I remember there were tank threads under the ents once but they had weird collision and were centered around a phx plate oô Dunno anymore if they even did something beside being weird.

  • I was working on a few new bridge models, and I'd be happy to contribute if I could only figure out how to texture them and put them into the game. I'm modeling them in Autodesk Inventor and converting them into Blender, but I have no idea how blender works, and even if I did, it's too imprecise for me...

  • Actually, that's the easy part. The hard part is trying to find a space on the counter for it to fit, and a clean bowl/cup to put the remains in afterwards... The biggest issue I have at the moment is texturing; perhaps that's why they don't show up. They're not textured. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to texture them? I feel really dumb, as Youtube videos haven't helped in the slightest.

  • I've got some suggestions. There's some entities in the Slyfo folders for SBEP that seem, judging by both their appearance and their filenames, to warrant scripting for use in LS3. Can't recall exactly which ones off the top of my head but I'll edit this post to add more info as I dig it up.

Maybe they could get added as new options for batteries and other ls containers, like some servers have Mandrac LS storages.
