• What are you talking about OF COURSE someone's going to port the s4e2 models.
 •
What are you talking about OF COURSE someone's going to port the s4e2 models.
There might actually be a problem with that... So far, out of the three 3D-ripping programs I've got, only one worked with S4E2 -- 3D Ripper DX. I was trying to get the Metal Sonic model for ApocHedgie, and 3DVia Printscreen and GameAssassin both failed, and 3D Ripper DX's models don't have any UV mapping for the exported models...
 • Eh... I guess we'll just wait for someone at Sonic Retro to find a way to extract the models like they did with S4E1...
 •
Eh... I guess we'll just wait for someone at Sonic Retro to find a way to extract the models like they did with S4E1...
Probably. I'd take a look at it myself, but I know diddly-squat about models that aren't in the MDL0 format (since EP1/2 use the "ZNO" format instead of something more known). ...I do have a few ideas, though.
 • portal2.exe has stopped responding damn it, i should've seen it coming that portal 2 wouldn't like a 28k poly model :c

 • Well if someone ripped the models and make ragdolls of it, it would be nice to make a link to it
 • it turns out the time eater was 31k. i made a false calculation yesterday. i just tried optimizing it and got it down to 27k polies, but it still won't load. i'm going to have to find a way to get it lower; maybe about 22k, which is chell's model.
 • [t]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/RandomTalkingBush/S4E2-MetalSonicRender.png[/t] I got it.
 •
[t]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/RandomTalkingBush/S4E2-MetalSonicRender.png[/t] I got it.
Great! Now people may be capable of porting it to Generations and try to recreate a Modern version of Sonic VS Metal Sonic. I'd like to see it's profile on the character section of Sonic's Room, in place of Classic Metal Sonic (NOTE: Not the Statue Room)

 •
May I ask how? I don't remember there being any .zno converters around.
All I'm gonna say is "back-porting".
 •
All I'm gonna say is "back-porting".
So you changed the file's format to something else? But how and what to?
 •
So you changed the file's format to something else? But how and what to?
I'll let this picture speak for itself. (EDIT: Thanks to Apoc for letting me borrow his account so I could try this out.)
 • So you re-worked the .zno to work with episode 1, I get it now. But where'd you get the .zno ripper? Im not asking for a download, I just didn't know one existed.

 •
just a quick question - how'd you use a screen ripper and get a perfect t-pose?
GameAssassin. Had to piece together multiple rips, though, since it only gets a little bit at a time (which is more than Episode 2, where it crashed instantly). It doesn't work with everything, though, some games don't get T-poses, and some don't work at all.

Sorry for all the questions, but Metal Sonic from episode metal, is it the MSN_MDL.amb from G_COM?
 •
Ah alright. Sorry for all the questions, but Metal Sonic from episode metal, is it the MSN_MDL.amb from G_COM?
MSN_MDL.amb is for the boss Metal Sonic, MSN_T_MDL.amb is for Metal Sonic's "Episode Metal" model, which uses the shaders from Episode 1 (hence why it works in Episode 1). The models are the same, except for the textures (the playable one has higher-resolution textures).

 • This should be useful for me -- I found out which values in the ZNO files are for bone positioning -- note the blue dots! This should help out with the rigging.
