  • Well everyone has their own skill level on making maps, at least he's doing something with Dead space theme. And aliensoldier as well, last time i saw. Please lets not go into an argument about "i can do this better", if your going to help out with Dead space please do, other wise, this isn't going anywhere.
  • Everybody has his own way how to create maps. Some people first texture everything with Nodraw, some other use placeholder-textures and there are Level Designer applying textures directly on a new brush... And nexus is right, everyone also has their own skill on mapping, so if ya do this since your 8 years old Instant Mix, don't tell a beginner his maps would be bad. I'm pretty sure, the first map YOU have created was just a pile of simple geometry stuff like boxes :P

I had a folder , full to the brim of map files testing each entity , making use of each , weird rooms , scripted sequences , lighting tests etc. Then I was prepared to properly map. He should follow the same. Hey , he was the one who provoked it by putting forward that I was an idiot and implying that I had no idea how a map starts out.It was clearly a WIP map , but he shouldn't be releasing shots made that early at this point in time. You don't see maps in the Pimpage thread saying "here is my base layout for a barely started map" - you see ones with hours of progress put into it. idiots

If yes, you really should use a "env_sprite" it looks much better :)

I understand you do yours differently, but, can't expect others to do good maps, everyone has different skills at it. I'm pretty sure i do horrible at it :v: Why isn't anyone allow to show wip? i mean isn't that what others are doing here? even on models too, all wip, and people show. Just something they like to show off over as they progress. I don't see what's wrong with showing wip to begin with, even if it looks bad, that's where people would come in and make suggestion and help out where to fix. But seriously, if you're going to do any Dead space maps please do, other wise, hunter and aliens are only making any difference doing the maps for the community. And a little bit more brighter, the shadow area is a bother. And perhaps try using some of the DS2 textures, if anyone can provide.
