I am trying to compile this one .smd model to .mdl. But, whenever I try, this comes up:
C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/its_nota_secret/sourcesdk/bin/ep1/bin/studiomdl.exe -game "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\its_nota_secret\garrysmod\garrysmod_old" "C:\Users\Alex\Desktop\Games n Stuff\Everything Workshop\Everything Garry's Mod\Camera Pack\Video Camera\compiler.qc" qdir: "c:\users\alex\desktop\games n stuff\everything workshop\everything garry's mod\camera pack\video camera\" gamedir: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\its_nota_secret\garrysmod\garrysmod_old\" g_path: "compiler" Working on "compiler.qc" SMD MODEL cameraTV.smd ERROR: 'EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION' (assert: 1) ERROR: Aborted Processing on 'models\itsnotasecret\vidcam.mdl' StudioMDL Thread complete
This is the .qc:
$modelname "models\itsnotasecret\vidcam.mdl" $cdmaterials "itsnotasecret\" $scale 1 $surfaceprop "metal" $sequence idle "cameraTV.smd" fps 1 $collisionmodel "cameraTV.smd" { $mass 100.0 $inertia 1.00 $damping 0.00 $rotdamping 0.00 }
Is there any solution to this? I have already searched the internet for a solution, but I had no luck.
Does the "garrysmod\garrysmod_old\models\itsnotasecret\" folder actually exist?
Does the "garrysmod\garrysmod_old\models\itsnotasecret\" folder actually exist?
Yes, it does. [editline]2nd August 2013[/editline] bump
Does the "garrysmod\garrysmod_old\models\itsnotasecret\" folder actually exist?
That would result in a very different error specifying that the path was non-existent. What's wrong is that you don't have a $model line, so studiomdl is spitting its generic "What the hell is going on" error at you. Edit your QC to look like this:
$modelname "models\itsnotasecret\vidcam.mdl" $scale 1.0 $model "vidcam" "cameraTV.smd" $cdmaterials "itsnotasecret\" $surfaceprop "metal" $sequence idle "cameraTV.smd" fps 1 $collisionmodel "cameraTV.smd" { $mass 100.0 $inertia 1.00 $damping 0.00 $rotdamping 0.00 }
You need to make sure you have a $modelname (which you do) and a $model or $body line. That is what references the actual visible model, so without it, you get this error. Also something to note, $scale must always be before any $model lines, and if it's just going to be 1.0 (100%), you don't even need to put it.
