[Rebels finale] [sp]Anybody else think it's kinda weird that Kanan got Hera pregnant before even saying "I love you"?[/sp]
[sp]according to this Ezra and Thrawn survived[/sp] [editline]6th March 2018[/editline]
[sp]Just being sly about the whales, since that's what the rebels called them.[/sp]
[sp]they're saying Purgill, not purple.[/sp] [editline]6th March 2018[/editline]
[sp] Ezra and Thrawn better have their own story out there that doesn't end with them being or killed by Snoke. Gimme that Chiss Ascendancy[/sp]
I bet the new show Filoni is working on will be about [sp]Ahsoka and Sabine: Finding Ezra featuring Thrawn[/sp] I personally loved the finale. Was a good way of wrapping the show up and connecting all the loose ends to the original trilogy. I haven't read Thrawn novels so I wouldn't know about his accurate portrayal, but I do know that Timothy Zhann was involved so I highly doubt they did a disservice to his character. I think they way it ended was great because it may as well connect to the new movie trilogy with the First Order. Watch as Filoni's take on First Order is gonna be way better than both movies :v:
Pretty loosely. It feels like he took a massive shit on a lot of the things Abrams was building up to for the trilogy. It's like he wanted to stomp on the loose threads and make his own.
Its not like Abrams really knew what he was doing with those things in the first place, he said so himself in fact and hell, he didn't even come up with anything all that original, he just copied the previous movies for ideas pretty much. In that respect it's like he came from the George Lucas school of Star Wars writing... But at least George Lucas for all of his faults actually did some different shit, even if it went into terribad territory most of the time (Clone Wars series is fantastic though, but that was a collaborative effort and I honestly think people had the balls to say no to some of his more stupid ideas, which is why it's so great).
Rebels: [sp]Jacen Syndulla's name is spelled like the Jacen Solo's. Must have been on purpose. The Star Wars twitter even tweeted this https://twitter.com/starwars/status/970856627401211904[/sp] [editline]6th March 2018[/editline] I like this redesign, it makes it look a bit more imperial. Rebels Finale: [sp]I found it fitting that much like in the season 3 finale, Thrawn once again found himself bested by the Force, the one thing he had no control over. That said, it felt a bit shortsighted of him to assume that the rebels wouldn't just fight their way to the shield control room.[/sp]
I know this will be an unpopular opinion around here, but I really didn't like the latest two Rebels episodes, to the point I'm not sure what I'm expecting from the grand finale anymore. First of all, as always, I'm completely baffled by Filoni's own view on Force mysticism. Especially when said view allows for something like [sp]space-time shenanigans[/sp]. Especially when said shenanigans come from fucking nowhere. Especially when said shenanigans seem to have been devised exclusively to [sp]save from an apparent death fan-favorite Ashoka Tano[/sp]. Conveniently, all of this is [sp]uncerimoniously erased for good by the time the two episodes are over and we won't hear of this ever again[/sp], Filoni-style. Second, after waiting with genuine anticipation for [sp]Darth Sidious to attempt something with the World Between Worlds, all he does in the episode is conjuring some spooky homing blue flames after Ezra and Ashoka. Sure enough, the gate is permanently closed by the heroes' meddling and Sidious loses one hell of an asset just to mess around with two Padawans[/sp]. I may be biased on this however, as I've always been hating the character's guts in basically every Star Wars media aside from The Clone Wars. Third, STOP FUCKING RUINING THE IMAGE OF THE DEATH TROOPERS. In their first appearence in the show a single death trooper was enough to keep the heroes at bay and came close to get them. Nowadays Rebels' death troopers are basically a reskin of your average dumb as fuck stormtrooper. Also, remember when Zeb was much more than a simple comic relief character? Or when, you know, Kallus existed at all? Yeah, me neither
I have to agree. I will say, this season so far is actually much better than the rest in terms of pacing and action and quality of content (I actually just bought it, and started watching it after I saw what happened in the last few episodes). But Filoni's view of the force (even since Morits) is completely fan fiction trash.
But Filoni's view of the force (even since Morits) is completely fan fiction trash.
George came up with the Mortis stuff. They were his ideas. Filoni just expanded on what George did and taught him. George and Filoni would spend hours just talking about the force and other aspects of the franchise during the production of Clone Wars.

Can't be Fanfic if it's created by the original creator.
Can't be Fanfic if it's created by the original creator.
You misunderstand. I'm not saying it's literally fanfiction - in fact it's all , unfortunately, canon. What I'm saying is that the Mortis arc and the WBW is really poorly crafted, and doesn't make sense in the Star Wars universe. That's all completely subjective, of course, and many people like it. I just don't. This last season was actually one of the best in the series - if not the best - but [sp]wolves that can go through wormholes, cave painting coming alive like magic and making a wormhole in the wall, and saving someone by literally pulling them through a time-breaking hole on colorless rainbow road[/sp] are all pretty fan-fiction levels of idea writing. It's like putting magic into Mass Effect, or technology into LotR. Just like Clone Wars, there are parts that really shouldn't have made it in. It's still a good show, but some things (like the force...) are better left unexplained and untarnished.
How doesn't it make sense in the universe he created?
There was plenty of force mysticism in Legends anyways. I think it has its place.
Dave Filoni is a genius and we all know it
The music in the last episode is absolutely amazing. I love how serious this season has been, and for there to be a continuous story for the entire season with little fluff.
This guy did a decent recreation of what he claims was the original opening storyboard for the Force Awakens I guess it was too on the nose.

New characters living through the history of Star Wars and all that?
You mean the whole "legacy" theme? New characters living through the history of Star Wars and all that?
No, I mean it symbolises the Force Awakens being a remake of a New Hope.

[sp]So, Ahsoka survives past the ending of Return of the Jedi, what the fuck was she doing during the time that Luke was trying to help the rebels fight the empire?[/sp]

The Story Group doesn't seem to want to commit to it.
It's so obvious that Nik Sant is Rex that they shouldn't even try to skirt around the issue
Nik Sant sounds like a kid's book pseudonym for Santa
Nik Sant sounds like a kid's book pseudonym for Santa
because it is
because it is
I guess that's what happens when you're not caught up and avoiding spoilers and miss an obvious joke :/
