George came up with the Mortis stuff. They were his ideas. Filoni just expanded on what George did and taught him. George and Filoni would spend hours just talking about the force and other aspects of the franchise during the production of Clone Wars.
BuT FiLoNi Is DiSnEy hE mUsT bE RuINiNg EvErYtHiNg

Can't be Fanfic if it's created by the original creator.
Can't be Fanfic if it's created by the original creator.
You misunderstand. I'm not saying it's literally fanfiction - in fact it's all , unfortunately, canon. What I'm saying is that the Mortis arc and the WBW is really poorly crafted, and doesn't make sense in the Star Wars universe. That's all completely subjective, of course, and many people like it. I just don't. This last season was actually one of the best in the series - if not the best - but [sp]wolves that can go through wormholes, cave painting coming alive like magic and making a wormhole in the wall, and saving someone by literally pulling them through a time-breaking hole on colorless rainbow road[/sp] are all pretty fan-fiction levels of idea writing. It's like putting magic into Mass Effect, or technology into LotR. Just like Clone Wars, there are parts that really shouldn't have made it in. It's still a good show, but some things (like the force...) are better left unexplained and untarnished.
How doesn't it make sense in the universe he created?
There was plenty of force mysticism in Legends anyways. I think it has its place.
Dave Filoni is a genius and we all know it
The music in the last episode is absolutely amazing. I love how serious this season has been, and for there to be a continuous story for the entire season with little fluff.
This guy did a decent recreation of what he claims was the original opening storyboard for the Force Awakens I guess it was too on the nose.

New characters living through the history of Star Wars and all that?
You mean the whole "legacy" theme? New characters living through the history of Star Wars and all that?
No, I mean it symbolises the Force Awakens being a remake of a New Hope.

[sp]So, Ahsoka survives past the ending of Return of the Jedi, what the fuck was she doing during the time that Luke was trying to help the rebels fight the empire?[/sp]

Yoda may have appeared to her and told her to wait. She gave up being a Jedi[/sp] [editline]7th March 2018[/editline] Pablo is still giving vague answers if Rex is the bearded Rebel in ROTJ. The Story Group doesn't seem to want to commit to it.
It's so obvious that Nik Sant is Rex that they shouldn't even try to skirt around the issue
Nik Sant sounds like a kid's book pseudonym for Santa
Nik Sant sounds like a kid's book pseudonym for Santa
because it is
because it is
I guess that's what happens when you're not caught up and avoiding spoilers and miss an obvious joke :/

[sp]Everything about that except for Boyega's delivery on "Rebel scum" was great. Totally lines up with Phasma's depiction in comics and books. I get why they'd remove it though, kind of kills the pacing.[/sp]

I wonder why they didn't actually take that opportunity to explain away Ahsoka during the events of the OT then? Hopefully we find out more about her going ons during those 6 years[/sp]
i felt the [sp]part where she shoots the stormtroopers was somehow weirdly filmed. did it really have be a closeup of the pistol for all of the shots?[/sp]
Maybe it's so [sp]we don't see their shitty reaction times, after the first guy is shot the others have plenty of time to react. I'm eagerly awaiting an edit where the room is full of Stormtroopers and Phasma's shots are looped for 5 minutes until they're dead.[/sp]
i felt the [sp]part where she shoots the stormtroopers was somehow weirdly filmed. did it really have be a closeup of the pistol for all of the shots?[/sp]
Agreed. It was something basically impossible for them to do convincingly so they made some cuts, some of them even looking flipped. The wire part at the end was fucking awful too. It's a good thing that they cut the scene.
i hope [sp]she finally gets to actually do something in Ep9 and in a frustrated rage butchers a ton of whatever good guys are left in that film[/sp]
See the end of episode 8 was an inescapable scenario where [sp]The Millennium falcon inevitably gets captured or destroyed by the myriad of FO ships in orbit[/sp] But then again the start of episode 8 was an inescapable scenario where the entirety of a planet's "resistance" should've got captured or destroyed. So fuck this series.
Star Wars has always had seemingly impossible scenarios. The FO fleet was only on one side of the planet, so the Falcon probably jumped from the other side.
No, I'd say the OT had very difficult and unlikely scenarios but (if we assume the whole "let them escape the death star on purpose" thing was so) but everything seemed doable within the context of the world. The Prequel trillogy was probably more grounded but that's irrelevant. The ST has some downright impossible bullshit given the context of the world. I felt outright cheated when the entire resistance escaped because poe could fast talk an implausibly insecure and inept commander who had more reasonable subordinates. ...and then snoke gloats that he's a fucking genius for putting the idiot in charge, just to rub salt in.
