Thank you sir. It wasn't bad, I just forgot what the name was and wanted to go take a look at it again :v:
You are most welcome. I think I might revisit it too.
Cinematic mod It gave me nightmares.
HL2: Substance A crash-prone trainwreck of a mod consisting mainly of the standard singleplayer campaign slightly modified with tacti-cool weapons, content shamelessly copied from MGS (in what to me appeared to be an attempt at cross-breeding the games for some odd reason), massive difficulty imbalance. It was quite fun to fuck around with for a while though. This was a few years ago, not sure what happened to it after that. [editline]11th March 2011[/editline] You're 100% correct about its core community (a lot of those are admins on the official servers too so if you try to experiment you're often up for a boot), but I really like a lot of aspects of it. It is indeed very similar to Battlefield 2 & 2142 but that's an argument in its favor if anything, and the RTS-aspects that the commander role of those games create is capitalized on in Empires with features like base/fort building (which is complex/free enough to add an ocean of depth to the game), the resource gathering, the tech tree and vehicle customization system. Admittedly I've never really become one of those players experienced/advanced enough to play a decisive factor in the game, but I've sunk lots and lots of hours into Empires.
The guy who made substance taught me how to rig in source then tried to recruit me to do all their weapons properly was a nice guy though
that mod was amazing, what is wrong with you man
As I said, I've played a grand total of 4 mods, and those were Day Life, Get a Life, CSS Sci-Fi, and MOP. That's not saying that MOP is bad, it's just saying that it's the weakest link of the 4.
Jailbreak is a great mod, it's a shame nobody plays it :saddowns: As far as terrible mods go, well... I haven't played any. I'm serious. The worst I played is NeoTokyo, and even on that, I can see some excellence.
Strider Mountain
I was asking becuase there have been updates that do reduce the amount of time he spends talking as well as a lot of bug fixes. They also changed a few things in the options menu, but i haven't checked that out.
I know, but once I saw that they actually released the game without checking for bugs I just stopped playing it, it shows they weren't trying hard enough. Think of it this way, if Valve released it's next game as a shitty bug filled mess wouldn't you feel like you may not want to play it?
Half Life : Capture the Flag I say this because, when I downloaded it, no one was playing. What a piece of poo.
Strider Mountain
lets make a "mod" with fpsbanana skins, textures from games like doom 3 (im serious, there are DOOM3 TEXTURES HERE) and horrible faceposing and pack it with maps and call it a mod
Hahaha holy shit when the soldiers do "radio" voices they literally say "ksshh" to simulate static This is gold
Video? :v: [editline]13th March 2011[/editline]
Portal Project: Beta because the ending was absolute shit
What exactly is that?
Strider Mountain
That mod was ridiculously long and hard.
garry's mod :v:
SSH Mod Messup, although to be fair I'm not entirely sure if it's the worst mod I've played or the best.
Does I Hate Mountains count? Awful, overdetailed confusing levels with literally no lighting and they even added arrows to help you get around and I still got lost a ton. I was physically ill at the end of playing it, no joke.
My god this looks like shit http://www.moddb.com/mods/battlewars
Is NeoTokyo still alive? That game was fun. I remember a Revolutionary War mod that wasn't very fun.
That mod was ridiculously long and hard.
To be honest, it wasn't even hard. It was just terribly coded because I can recall several times where the map would not let me progress and I waited for 20 minutes or so until the level allowed me to progress. Not to mention they added shitty cutscenes which play like shit in the game (animations are all borked and just don't look right because they show Gordon Freeman, whose main character trait is not being seen).
I recently installed Portal-Life. The horror...
Melons Vs Combine 2
That mod was ridiculously long and hard.
The beginning was promising and the overall get in and get out pacing was interesting, but it became just so horrible after just a few levels. I mean some of the levels were so badly desinged. There was this one level, where I was blocked by a fence. Well apparently if I just would've pressed E, the fence would slide out of the way. What the hell?
Is NeoTokyo still alive? That game was fun. I remember a Revolutionary War mod that wasn't very fun.
Battlegrounds. It was fun for line battles but the one shot reload mechanic made unorganized team death matches kind of a bore.
Actually I've just played through 1187 again and it's fucking terrible.

What the hell?
Also stupid reskins, sniper rifle that fires crossbow bolts. DERRRRRRRRRRRRP
Obsidian Conflict (community sucks) Human Error (a lot of glitches, crappy voices and models) Half the existing "SMOD" mods Provenance (all looks, no good gameplay)
Underhell, mainly because i can't get it to stop lagging, even on all lowest. Unoptimized piece of shit.
Once i found something that was about 80% Gmod ripoff. It was horrible. Cant remember the name though.
sniper rifle that fires crossbow bolts.
Maybe it's bolt action :smug:
Get a life. You have leukemia! Random attempt at you life by the military in the subway tunnels! Zombies! Huge adventure with no explanation as to why you are doing this! Also the health system. Get shot, and you can't see shit till you find a health pack. And it went on for ever like strider mountain.
Well they do sort of explain why they're after you and how it relates to the zombies near the end... But then they make you fight a boss that has absolutely nothing to do with anything you've previously encountered. And then a "wtf" ending that leaves many questions unanswered.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-island The Island aka Dead Sector: Source.
Well they do sort of explain why they're after you and how it relates to the zombies near the end... And then a "wtf" ending that leaves many questions unanswered.
It's "simple". The final boss is [sp]your clone, who you managed to outsmart before, prompting him to release the virus and send out those soldiers.[/sp] Also, those giant meat monsters are probably generic demons, considering the last time you see them in the end, right in front of the god damn Eye of Sauron. Still doesn't really explain the Icthyosaur, though.
